Default Witch's Lair/Kitchen

Hello All. I am new to the forum and I am enjoying all the posts. I live for Halloween. There is Halloween and then 364 days planning for Halloween.

So this year we are changing things up a little and we are going to decorate our kitchen as a witch's lair/kitchen.

So I need a little help with decorating ideas.

So far I have a bunch of ideas for potion bottles, cauldrons, spiders, bats, cats, snakes, brooms, and skulls. And last year I bought some skull candle holders and hanging skulls from a discount store.

So I was thinking of adding some fog too, but I am having trouble tieing it all together. Plus we have a decent size kitchen and I don't think that I have enough to fill it without it all looking sparse and kind of random.

So, anything that you could help with would be great. Also I am a very visual person, so if you have any pictures or examples of what you guys have done, I would love it!

Thanks again and I look forward to chatting with all of you!

First off welcome to the best forum to ever be made! Second, your ideads sound so cool. Something with the fog, you can buy a fog machine which can go anywhere from $20.00 to $100.00. They have these mist maker foggers as Big Lots for only $20.000 that you only need to add water to. Makes a great affect.

Also they make painted signs, lots of kitchen things like matching rugs, place matts, towls, soap dispenser and so forth.

Plastic Cauldrons are always a plus. Maybe put the mist maker in the culdron to make it look like your brewing something up?

Fake piderwebs, Orange lights, Lots of diffrernt fake insects will make a huge diffrence.

This is all great and can be done for really really cheap.

Good luck and post pics!!

What a fun idea. Using the cheap spider webs, and draping around creatively will be a good filler, if you are worried about things looking sparce, and can creep it up effectively. Also, check out a site,aranamuerta.com, she has witch kitchen bottle ideas, with some pictures of her witch kitchen.. On this forum, do a search of the party ideas section, and maybe the prop and general section, there are back threads that might be helpful. Good luck, keep us up dated and take pictures to show how it turns out!

And check out Oriental Trading... They have the plastic cabinet and fridge covers for a very reasonable price. Look for the cockroach wall clings too!

Have you thought about maybe a wooden cutting board with a pile of nasty looking goodies and a fake knife for chopping it all up? Or maybe a mortar & pestle with a pile of goodies to be ground up in it? Or maybe placing some "pets" peeking out from the corners like a rat, bat, black cat, large spider or black crow?

Maybe colored string lights will keep it dark enough to not notice the sparse areas. I like this idea, have fun!

Oh usally at wal-mart around halloween time they have a skull punch bowl and a cool halloween cup cake rack. In stead of putting cup cakes on the rack you could get those little pumpkins. We did this last year and it was actually pretty cool.
