I'll most likely skip it, as I usually try to avoid remakes. I love the original though!

Moonie:
From what I've seen so far it appears as though it will at least be a decent "stand alone" movie even if it doesn't make the grade with the other "Halloween" movies. (I really only like the first two anyway).
John Carpenter reportedly gave RZ the thumbs up for this undertaking with the impression that he could pull it off. I hope it really is as good as the previews and that they didn't shoot the whole wad on those, like they do with so many other movies. Oh well...at the very least I'll get to stuff myself sick on popcorn. Yaaayyy!!!But sweetheart the Headless Horseman prop is ONLY $3,500.00 give or take...

I love the original (can you tell by my name). I am still seeing this though. I have my tickets already to see it at 7:50 tonight.

I am hoping to see it this weekend, even though I am not a big Rob Zombie fan. He kind of takes the 'mental' scare out of things, then covers it up with alot of gore.
Looking forward to it though!

The original "Halloween" is by far my favorite horror film of all time. However, with that being said, I seriously doubt I'll be able to bring myself to see Rob Zombie's version. The original was pretty much blood and gore free, the storyline messed with your mind and to me THAT is what makes a great horror flick. The snippets I've seen thus far from the new movie were proof enough to me that Zombie couldn't achieve the same thing without goring it up for no reason at all.
I think I'll be skipping this remake, simply because, in my book blood and gore for no reason doesn't make a movie, it ruins it.I came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass. I'm all out of bubble gum.
Laurie: "Was that the boogeyman?"
Dr. Loomis: "As a matter of fact...that was."

Well I just got home from seeing it. I liked it, doesn't come close to the original though. Had this been it's own movie and there had never been a Halloween movie I think it was pretty good then, but knowing almost every detail of the original I had my hard times with this one. The prequel section I enjoyed.
I just like the character of Michael Myers and that was my main reason for going.
