I take it easy on smaller ones. (Daisies, Princesses, Pea Pods). but if you can't make it up the drive with, or with out your parent's. no candy for you. if it looks like they won't come up, I tell them it's ok and they will walk up. I've only had a handful that would not come for candy. (and They were teenagers). ha ha ha.

I never scare the little ones--not in the past when haunting someone else's yard and not now at my apartment building. Uh-uh. If they seem really afraid of me, I just go away.

If they seem hesitant, I talk to them, using my fake-English-gothic accent, asking if they want to know the secrets of this haunted place. I tell them not to worry, that the spirits here will do no harm to them.
