I am trying to make a roof for my haunt. I would go with none but the fog from the fog machine will just escape. I need it to go over about a 15'x20' area.
    ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED!

Run nylon string from side to side, about every 2' - 3', then lay large cardboard boxes (opened up flat) on top.

Black plastic. Some people worry about the fire hazard, but I say it's minimal. You can buy it in 100' x 10' rolls or so for about 20 bucks.

Home Depot, Lowes and most hardware stores have it really cheap.

Where do you find them in Lowe's? Last time I went I looked in the painters section. They had dropcloths, but no big plastic rolls. Are they in a different section?

I've found the 100'X10' black heavy duty plastic at our Lowe's near where they shelve the insulation. (Towards the end of the store where all the wood subflooring and major drainage pipe is.)

LV Scott T: " Run nylon string from side to side, about every 2' - 3', then lay large cardboard boxes (opened up flat) on top. "

What also works good (but is a little more expensive) is the wood trellis style fence/shelter pieces that you cover your patio with. Cover with the black plastic (stapling it to the trellis usually helps), then nail it to the framse.

I buy the black plastic at lowes. Ask an employee to tell you where it is. It will come in a cardboard box and you'll need to make sure you buy BLACK plastic.

The actual roll is only a foot or two long, and the plastic is folded several times, so make sure you fold it out all the way!

Home Depot seems to only or mostly carry clear plastic.

I'm not sure what Mils you really need, but I say be safe and don't get the thinnest stuff.

How many days will this be up? It will collect rain water, so you will want to slope it and maybe have drainage holes. Camo netting, etc, would be awesome but is cost prohibitive.
