Hi I have a ? about my fog machine that I bought last year. I pulled it down this year and plugged it in and it won't heat up. I used the machine for about an hour last year so it is still very new. Does anyone know what the problem might be? If you know please explain. Thanks.
Build it and they will come.

I suggest you plug it in a couple of different outlets . Is this a high wattage machine or one of the smaller ones that sell for 20 or 30 bucks. If it's a small one it might not be worth the effort and money to try and fix. Good luck and I'm sure other will give their opinions.

Thanks for the tips el diablo . My fog machine is a 700 watt unit. I tried your advice,
and used different outlets, but that didn't help. I paided a hundred $
for my machine, and wood like to get a couple more years out of it.
Build it and they will come.

I had on that heated but the pump got gummed up and would not pump. If it is truly not heating, check for any blown fuses. If you have a DVM check the continuity of the power cord, (with the unit unplugged of corse). Also check to see if the main power switch on the back side of unit has continuity when on, ALSO WITH UNIT UNPLUGGED. Your outlets are probley OK, to double check try a lamp or radio in the same outlets.
Its the most HORRIBLE time of the year. , I apoligize in advance for any misspelled words.

    Haverghast Asylum,
Do you get any lights on the unit when it is plugged in and should be running? Spectremaster is right because some of mine have two switches on some of my foggers and one switch on others. Check and see if there is a fuse on the back. Some of the foggers have fuses in them. They occasionally blow. I had one do it. But it was a cheap one (Under $20).

Yes the power light comes on, but the unit never heats up. I let it sit for 20
minutes, and it felt like it was getting colder. I looked inside of the machine and didn't see any other fuses. I am so confused, and mad

I've got a PDF I downloaded last year on how to troubleshoot foggers. PM me your address and I'll email it over.

Here's a link to other help.

Hey, I am been using fog machines for 11 years now and every year when I get them out I have at least one that does not work..

What I have found: it is most likely clogged
some units will not heat if they do not detect any fluid coming through.

After you were finished with it last year did you run Vinegar and distilled water through it ? also since you just bought it last year it should have a warranty; may want to call the manufacturer and see.. you will most likely have to pay shipping.

BUT if you are adventurous you can try to take it apart; there are not many parts. but you would be mainly interesting in the filter stone and the tubing. if you can trace all the tubing and remove them and try to blow through them to see if you at least can get air through that would tell you alot.

We go thru the clean or don't clean thread every year. Several times.

I may be wrong, but I believe the popular consensus is to not clean the units, that vinegar can actually do more damage that good. Store them with fluid so the pump seals don't dry out.

I could be wrong. I'm too lazy to try a search. :-)

I may end up with 4 dead foggers... but so far, so good.
