Probably lead soldering if there's any electronics in it.

With the two major toy recalls in the past couple weeks, I'm not surprised. (Those had lead in the paint).

I wouldn't worry about it. The government wants to protect you...from...you.

If lead paint was as bad as they say, our parents would be dead and we'd all be retarded.

/not saying it's NOT bad, just saying....not as bad as the fearmongers want you to believe.

That warning is on alot of products. If you have ever bought Christmas lights or spot light holders, there is a little tag attached that says the same thing.

I think just about everything causes cancer these days. *sigh*

*whispers* I'm quite sure that children can cause it. LOL! J/K

Most wiring in holiday display items have a coating ( like the chritmas lights).
the black wire that you plug the item into has the coating, washup after setup, and if you hack the insides also wash up. Remember most of this is from china,
they just recalled some toddler toys that had lead paint on them ,and that had no warning on the package. Wash hands regularly or at least the end of the day when your finished with your props.

I grew up on a farm. I have been coated with chemicals and ingested all sorts of god knows what. So has my dad. And his grandad. And his dad. We burned lead based fuels for years before they went extinct.

None of us got cancer, nobody died. No birth defects, etc.

The government goes overboard to protect you from things. And tort lawyers will jump all over any inkling of it. Who cares if asbestos saved thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of lives via flame retardant materials and durable brake linings... if some people claim it made them sick, then sue sue sue!

I digress. The toy recalls are a little disturbing, but having dealt with Chinese imports/exports for a while, it's really just the US flexing our muscles to spur on QC over there. It's a good thing, but I doubt there was much threat from the toys.

I wouldn't want to live in Arizona or Nevada either. I hear California causes cancer!
