I was just wondering why some haunted house are built up on wood floors.
some of knotts berry farms haunt mazes are built in level parking lots, but they still build them on ply wood floors. If there is no specific reson why they do this
I would think it was a waste of money, and would. Does anyone kno why they do this, I have been woundering for a long time.

My guess would be that it's easier to anchor stuff into wood rather than the cement or asphalt of the parking lots.

Also, probably has something to do with a safety issue. Less chance of you getting hurt if you fall on wood, rather than concrete or asphalt.

Maybe gives all the props/set up a few inches off the ground in case it rains. Parking lots are made to drain and they may have had an issue with the bottoms of the sets getting wet.

Could also provide an area for cable runs for sound, lighting, etc.

Drainage, ease of construction and routing of cords, hoses and such. If you asked me.

Exactly. Drainage, running cables for lighting, audio, power and control lines for props, as well as anchoring those props, any handrails/barriers, etc. It's damn near impossible to put a larger-scale walkthrough haunt together on concrete or asphalt unless you want to drill or pound everythng into that hard material all the time, and hope it doesn't rain all month.

I wouldn't think that if you had drainage problems that you would want to any electrical wiring in it???
