I believe that buying Halloween stuff and not drugs is a good thing. Why should we put money in the pockets of criminals. I say that we put are money were will do the most good. That's what my voice of reason tells me. I did have to ruff him up a little to see my point.
Don't die around me if you don't wont to end up on the front lawn on HALLOWEEN

-Gothikim- "I spend all my b-day $ on Halloween clearance goodies (my b-day is Halloween!), then pack it away for the next year"

I just did that in July... oops don't tell MIL. It'll be used well and I'll enjoy it all.

The only way I have the will power is from (I hate to say it) Oprah. She had an episode several years ago about how to control spending. Her guests trick was to ask yourself " Is this item worth this much time at work?" Break the cost down into minutes on the job. Is it worth those 15 min- hour- day of working? That trick has helped me quite a bit. Now I try to shop at Thrift stores, dollar stores and yard sales.... The blow is smaller when DH comes across stuff... I can say " It was only.... and look how much I got" .
We get along well because I don't ride him about his purchases and he doesn't ride me about mine. He'll tease every now and then, but not get mad.... sometimes it's crazy 'cause he'll come home from work with the same items as me. Especially around halloween at the 99cent only store! It was only 99cents x 30...hee hee..

I agree with hermit4099; as long as I am not spending my money on hookers and blow it's all good. Mind you, I justify a lot of things with this logic...

Last year Mr. L and I were standing in Spirit Halloween when Mr. L’s voice of reason forgot himself and spoke out loud:
“You know you shouldn’t buy that because the mortgage will be due soon.”

My voice of reason, being very perturbed that Mr. L’s voice had spoken out loud responded,
“Hey, I already told her she can’t buy that because the auto insurance is due.”

It quickly escalated into a free-for-all, a verbal war of the worlds:
    “No, I told him first!”
“You spoke out loud and broke the silent rule so I win. I told her first.”
    “No, you didn’t!”
    “Yes, I did!”
    “No, I said it first!!”
    “No, I did!!!”

Soon it came to physical blows and the two voices of reason cut each other to pieces. Who knew they carry knives?

So, Mr. L and I picked up the bloody pieces (to use in our haunt), bought the prop we wanted, and have never been bothered by the pesky voices of reason again!

My voice of reason totally disappears when I see Halloween stuff at 70 and 90% off.

Heck at $1.49 I just had to pick up a couple of spare Marcus The Carcus's....

you know, just to have on hand in case the original konks out
