Ugh. I'm just going to pick "Traditional Halloween," and be done with it.

To recap, our guests voted for "Pimps n Hos," which is the lamest freaking idea for a Halloween Party ever.... (in my opinion, don't take offense if you are a pimp or ho).

Granted, I wouldn't mind a bit having ladies dressed in that manner around for an evening. :-) But I don't think the variety of costumes would be very good, and my wife will be 7 mos pregnant, a friend will be 6 mos, and 2 other friends will have just had their babies. Doubt many will feel like dressing like that!

Here are the other ideas that passed screening:
-Cliches (chick magnet, etc...) overdone in my opinion
-Cartoons. We've kinda gone this route by doing TV characters last year.

I wouldn't even suggest a theme, but the guests have a hard time picking, and if you don't have a theme, some people won't even participate.

So what do you think? General Halloween... infer zombies, witches, ghouls, goblins, wolfmen, frankenstein, etc... in the invite?

I love (or live for) the Halloween episodes of Home Improvement. I guess that's what I'm going for.

I agree that pimps & hos is overdone, not to mention a tad tacky. I can PROMISE that I wouldn't have wanted to dress like a ho when I was PG with the DD or even 6 months afterward! No one would've wanted to see it anyway ; >

Hmmm. B horror movie classics? 30s horror classics? There's just something cool about Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein, Bela Lugosi's Dracula, Lon Chaney's Wolfman... They're iconic, and anyone that wasn't raised by wolves in a cave in Appalachia should recognize them! No offense to anyone raised by wolves, or in a cave, or in Appalachia ; )

With POTC being so ridiculously popular, pirate/wench costumes would be easy to throw together. I personally feel that theme is overdone, but people seem to dig it. Now, if everyone had to talk like a pirate and come up with a pirate name, it might be more interesting...

Tra-dish-un. I just hope we can get a good turnout.

Once again, most of our friends have moved away. Four close friends and 8 total people have moved off since last year. This happens here all the time.
