...That really gets into Halloween? Or are you lucky enough to have friends and family who share your enthusiasm?

I'd have to say that my family kindly indulges my Halloween Mania...and will always lend a helping hand...but only in the way one might indulge a crazy old uncle who still wears his WWII uniform around the house. LOL!

Most of the people who know me just shake their heads and get out of the way, the "Halloween thing" is either fundamental to me weird nature or a logical extension of it, not sure which, (chicken... egg?).

The sort of mania I suffer under is mildly contagious though, so most people get in to the act and whether they're likely to admit it in more sober times or no, we all have a good time.

Well... I'm kinda sure I have a good time. I mean, my wife tells me my little eyes light up when I see a pumpkin, so that must mean I really enjoy meself, right? Yes, yes, I'm sure that's it. I'm not crazy, I just act that way.

    Weee!

    Ahem... sorry...
Idiot. Loon. Genius. I got worms in me head!
Yeah... I shill for Lord Grimley.

I'm the "Halloween Guy" of our group, but people enjoy it. My wife has really gotten into it. When we first me, she didn't even want to have parties, now our whole year is spent planning and talking about our party.

One of our friends, a Doctor, cleaned out Spirit last year...I was shocked and impressed when he told me.

I dragged the DH into it a couple of years ago, and last year I got my mom & brother involved (mwah ha ha). I'm the main perpetrator, but it's spreading a little year by year

I certainly hope to pass my love of the greatest holiday to my DD; she LOVES dressing up and gets sad when we go to our storage unit and can't bring the latex cats and rats home with us in the off-season *sniff--I'm just so proud*

Well I've become the Halloweenie of the family. My husband started it with a couple simple static figures. But then things started getting out of control and he would set up eveything we owned and the inlaws owned and it started to be used all at the same time. It started to get overwhelming and didn't make sense. So I had to start chimming in so the neighbors wouldn't go nuts. You should see us at Christmas. I had to chime in last year and it was a bit chilly in the house for a couple hours, but oh well. I heard a neighbor say when she walked by with her dog.talking to another neighbor." I thought they were done after Halloween" with that snotty tone, I don't really blame her, he was starting to set up the 10th or 11th string of lights that didn't really go together.I don't really care what neighbors think aside of those directly around us. We've only gotten good feedback from them. So anyway I started giving our haunts themes to help keep focussed.
We have fun together now. It's a family thing. We go yard sale shopping a lot together, and keep our eyes peeled for "treasure" as we call it. My husband is the builder and I'm the designer. It's a perfect match.
My friends and co-workers and starting to understand it a bit more. It is a bit infectous. They are on the look out for me now. They'll call me and say "somebody is moving up the street from me and there's a huge stash of stuff for free, come on up." My inlaws enjoy the holiday too, and want their house decorated, but don't want/can't do the work. It is a lot work, maybe this year we'll get up there to help.

So after my long story....geez...I am the butt of jokes, but that's okay it's all worth it, and they don't know what their missing.

I am the one that started the ball rolling. Brought the family on board. My DS is now always talking about Halloween and what are we gonna do this year and the next and draws up the "plans" for each year. Helps out with anything NOT too difficult or electrical. He LOVES it now, too. I think he likes it more than Christmas! Haha!

Friends think it's insane but they love it and always are dyin to see what's in store each time!

    They support my habit. hehehe

~ But I don't care Darling, because I love you, and you've got to let me eat your brains. ~

Yes, definetly. No friends or family or acquaintences share my interest/passion. However, I have noticed my husband has warmed up a bit over the last 10 years about 3 %! That means in 20 years he will be 10% more into it than he was when I found him!
My secret (not) plan is to raise my daughter to follow in my footsteps. So far so good-she will watch It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown with me in the middle of June!

I pretty much am the only one, my kids help some, are on the look out for stuff, gotten me clearance stuff (my son gave me a box of halloween things for Christmas one year.) Hubby is coming on board more, he said he will help build this year, he just doesn't seem to realize why I am working on it now. As far as at work, my close friends smile, humor me, but actually are amazed at my things every year. A few co-workers probably think I am right off my nut, but, that's OK, let them. We know I am the sane one!!!??lol!
I have flying monkeys- and I'm not afraid to use them!

A friend of mine and her mother (not realizing how into Halloween I am) told me about someone they know who works year round on their tombstones. When I reacted like a child at Christmas and said 'Cool! I'd love to see it!' They kinda rolled eyes and emphasized 'No, they work year round!' Then I knew how they would react when one day they see MY house!
