I was just curious. What is everyone's favorite type of Halloween? Gothic, country, gory, psychological, cute/funny...I guess I kind of like the gothic type of Halloween on the actual day of Halloween, but I really enjoy the feeling of a country Halloween as it is sort of nostalgic (even though I never really lived in the country). I like the whole bobbing for apples, hay ride, scary forest, dinner party kind of thing. What about you guys?

I like the kind where people push the limits of their own imaginations and are not boxed in by what is Halloween.
It can be Sci-Fi..
It can be Fantasy..
It can be historic...
Gory...
Creepy...
Off the wall...
Cute....
Pretty...
Spiritual...
Let not one soul tell you what is Halloweenish...go as far outside the box as you dare!"I never drink....wine. Well maybe just this once!"

Eerie. I guess.
I am not into gore at all. I prefer spooky scary. Shadows, sounds, lights, etc. It's my belief that the mind is far better at scaring you than blood and guts.
But I'm not against seeing gore in the right environment. The houses at Universal do a good job of using it in context.

I agree with wilbret... I don't need all the gore. I think the "unknown" is far scarier. I love it when there's complete darkness and maybe faint sounds, or a breeze... the kind of fear that makes your heart beat so fast and hard you can actually hear it. LOVE that!

I suppose I would say 'eerie' as well. I think of the type of thing that scared and intrigued us as kids; spooky, eeire sights and sounds that let our imaginations go wild as well as the delight of TOTing and costumes and the stuff that makes Halloween so fun when your a kid (and a kid at heart). Of course as a teenager it was gothic; dark and sinister!

I have to agree with Jack Reaper. I just like to have fun and see everyone else having fun as well. I think that's what I like the most about Halloween - the fact that you have no restrictions on the way you celebrate....well, relatively none.

I love a good "theme".. All the ones listed by Jack are excellent!
I don't have to be gory to do it, either!
It's the mystery.. the implied.. the possible.. the "how'd they DO that??".. that gets me going on Halloween!
Love the unknown. My mind is much creepier on the inside than any movie or book adapted to movie can come up with.
Hmm.. maybe that should be in my signature..
... my mind is much creepier on the inside....Boo
~ But I don't care Darling, because I love you, and you've got to let me eat your brains. ~

Yeah I agree.....gore to me always looks lame and cheapens the whole scene, and it always bores me and just looks dumb and thoughtless, I like originality like mention above.

I guess the words I would use to describe halloween the way I like it are "spooky", "errie" "creepy", "mysterious", "shadowy" etc
Definitely no gore.New Hampshire: America's Original Haunted Attraction
