Took the kids today and HOLY C#@$!!!
What an awesome spectacle!
It was like an atomic roller coaster on steroids. just when you catch your breath
here we go again!!!

Dusza, I never even liked the transformers but that video you linked to of the costumes was great. Gotta appreciate the creativity.

Hubby and I are going to go see it later today. I don't know why you guys g/f's and wives wouldn't go, that is too bad. Heard lots and lots of good about the movie, our son loved it!

Just saw it with my girls today....Pretty cool FX, but still very cartoony.
Never understood why none of the Autobots took on the form of a Tank.....howitzer......anti-aircraft gun!

At least they didn't do the "locomotive" transformer. Lamest EVER!

I wondered that too. [possible spoiler coming] It seems they can take whatever form they wish, so why not a tank to fight fire with fire. I took my nephew yesterday, and it was a lot better than I expected. My only real gripe is sometimes it was hard to keep track of things when the action was taking place. Usually, I love lots of action, but there were scenes that were a bit confusing.

Okay, from remembering back to when our sons were big into Transformers and the things were lying all over the house, the answer relates back to the good and bad guy aspect.

The autobots were protectors of people and assumed shapes that are of help to people, ie: cars, trucks, vehicles common to use.
The decepticons want to destroy humanity and therefore take on the shapes of mechanical things that kill people, ie: tanks, guns, airships.
