I am thinking about buying Photoshop or something similar. I basically want to it to add fangs to portraits, make images appear as ghosts in photos, and create labels for potions or pages for spell books. My question is whether Photoshop is my best bet for this kind of work and if so which version would I need? Is there a better program that would do the same thing?
    Thanks for your opinions.

I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 and am very pleased with it. The cost is ~$100, and it does a lot. It's not quite as deep as MGI PhotoSuite, but it doesn't cost $800, either.

I bought the Wacom tablet, came with PS elements 3, for $190.
    I like it!
A lot to take in, I am trying (frustrated) to learn all of (OK maybe just some of) the things it can do.

Try ebay. Some of the older versions of Photoshop can be had very cheaply there at times.

Thanks guys. I just picked up Photoshop Elements 5.0 on E-bay for $32. We are heading into a long weekend here in Canada so I imagine I'll get it early next week. Can't wait to fiddle with it....imagine I will be wasting a lot of time at work the day it arrives!
