How many of you set a budget for Halloween, including props, new items, computers, lighting, Candy (Of course) and any other things you give away.
Then How many of you actually stick to it?
Do any of you run side businesses (halloween related) to support your habit?
I have been agressivlely adding props and electronics to my haunt over the last couple years. I have been buying a lot of things that I should not have to buy again even if I change my props, like big amplifiers, 6 channel ones from RANE (2 of them) tons of speaker cable, heavy duty electrical wire to run new circuits, low light cameras so I can monitor what's going on, stone facades for my walls, servos, skellys, wireless mics, etc.
I have ended up spending in excess of $3000.00 on new stuff each of the last few years. We give out over 90 pounds of candy alone since I get over 200 TOTers. I also give out glow necklases.
What do you guys do?

I priced last year at about £1000 ($2000), this year my spending has reached £3000/$6000 already...
In the process of building the haunt I'm developing a lot of new control technology that I'm hoping I can sell on the mitigate some of the costs

my hubby would divorce me if I spent that much $$ on halloween. of course, we only do a party, no big haunt. the TOT-ers are lucky at your house

Budget=urban legend!
Spent way to much, it would be cheaper to hand all the ToTs a twenty spot.

I never said I told my wife what I spent......
I am hoping that I will not need to spend as much next year after buying so much heavy gear over the last two years, that I will use every time. But I imagine that some great idea will hit me, or I'll pick up one here that I just HAVE to do, and I'll be blowing the budget again!

On November 1, I figure out how much $$$ I spent then add $100 to that and say it was my budget. That way I'm always under budget
