I am on the email list for Frightcatalog. I just got this email from them for a special deal (9 skulls for $39.99 regularly $89.99) I thought it was a good deal until I notice that they offer the same single skull for only $4.99. Wouldnt that make the regular price for 9 skulls no more than $44.91. And since you usually get a discount when you buy in bulk then 9 skulls for $39.99 would seem like the regular price.
Has anyone noticed frightcatalog jacking up the price on items only to "put them on sale"

Uh so its 9 skulls at 39.99 roughly 4.44 each or seperatly for 4.99 makes sense to me.

I think you are missing my point. The regular price for 9 skulls is $89.99 and for one skull it is $4.99.

I see your point, Kronax. My guess is that those 9 skulls for 89.00 must come in a reeeally nice box. I wonder if they ever really sold them at that price while offering one skull for 4.99. Sure does look like a bogus sale to me.

Well, it may be that it's like a "MSRP" (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price), kind of like what you see on a lot of items, even at WalMart. Probably never been sold at that price. I give Fright Catalog the benefit of the doubt.
It reminds me of when my buddy went to WalMart to buy some Christmas lights. They had a string of 400 for $9.99. He wanted 1600 lights, so that would have been $40. He found some that were packages of 100 for $1.50. That would have been $24, so he puts the big ones back, goes to the counter and the checkout lady couldn't understand why he was buying 16 boxes when they had the 400 on sale for "only" $9.99. He tried explaining, but finally gave up because she just couldn't get it.

UH if you click on the skull for 4.99 and read all the way down it says that the skull normally retails for 9.99 so in fact the individual skull and the skull package are both on sale.

You know, when buying xmas lights you really need to pay attention to the box when it says how many you can plug in together. If your house burns down, the insurance adjuster might not like seeing 24 strands of lights plugged into one outlet.

Haha, Wilbret.
Nah, my buddy added a new box and wiring to his house JUST for his Christmas display. He really does it up, and strangely it doesn't look all that tacky.
We used to have a little "competition" between us; for instance if I'd get mentioned in the papers. He never did get photos, but he was mentioned on a radio station.

I've done bus with them before & never felt that i got the short end of the femur bone. The $89 for 9 or $9 bucks per is what you pay at the local halloween stores jacked up price , thats what frightcat is showing as "normal" retail price.
They're discount price is 4.99 per ( at $44) so the 9 at $39 is the xtra special price. most online stores are better priced ,minus the shipping charge, than the Halloween season bend-over prices. I usually wait with the xtra cash for the day after 50-70 percent off sale & wait for the doors to open. I pay more of what the item are really worth which is more closer to the online stores like fright catalog. Most of the local halloween stores stuff is twice the price that it should be. Maybe only saving 50 cents per skull for 9 over 4.99 per may not seem like much, but it helps balance out shipping cost a little better keeping the over all cost at bay. I think that if Frightcat was trying to start yanking us
he'd hear about it , & probably from alot of people on this forum !
I think that he is still giving the best deal in town & stands behind what he sells.-Just my 2 cents worth-When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........
