Depends on what size you want. Walmart has an excellent price on a 24" tube and fixture, under $10. They're also competetive on 48" tubes, average is $10 to as high as $25 each, theirs are about $12. Stay away from those cheap incandescent "black light bulbs", they put out almost no UV light.
I don't want to just scare them... I want to mess them up for life!

You can also try Home Depot and you get a ficture there as well. You missed the best deals right after Halloween. You could have found one at 50% off. You should be able to get tube and fixture for less than 25.00

48" bulbs are 12 buck at the big box stores. Don't pay more unless you absolutely have to.
Just buy a shop light fixture, again... maybe 12 bucks. I painted mine flat black and it works like a charm.
To store my bulbs, I have a large PVC pipe with an end cap on one end and a threaded cap on the other. I can pad them and keep them safe during the off season.

I do a very similar thing wilbret, only instead of PVC I have a number of flyrod carrying/shipping tubes from a few relatives who seem to discard them rather than use for their intended purpose; their laziness is my gain, I guess. I wrap the UV tubes in bubblewrap or 1/2" poly foam, and slide them in. Works beautifully.
