A few years ago, on the DAFE.org website (a site dedicated to darkrides), a home haunter's darkride project emerged. His name is Rick Murphy. I instanly fell in love with this project because I have always wanted my own haunted darkride or haunted house. I have brought this back up because I recently ran across video on YouTube which shows the haunt ride. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HCDS-8kNtc A link to the detailed how the darkride was made can be found at http://www.dafe.org/attractions/dark...m/scream01.htm

That is nuts! I love it... We have a 2 car garage, with no space for anything. Tools, toys, etc... we don't even park cars in it.

hahaha...I wanted to start my own but I bet that would cost a lot more than building a regular haunted house in my garage would...mostly building the car and the track!

What a hoot! I suppose it's a logical next step, but just how many people are that committed (or should be committed? ) to make that next step?
Although I check out the darkride sites I had not seen that before - thanks for posting.

A dark ride in your own home? Well, in order for someone to do it just right, they would have to not only be an engineering genius but they would also need lots of free time, space in the house, and tons of money. While it sounds like something cool to do, I don't think many of us in the "real world" could ever accomplish such an undertaking...

Halfway, did you read his how to. The engineering is very basic the materials cheap and he built a pretty neat little darkride in a 16 foot square garage. Its no mister toads wildride (RIP) but cool nontheless.

Sure did, but as I was saying before, to do it RIGHT you have to have all the cash and know-how...
