I'd love to know everyones opinions on doing your haunt on more then just halloween night? I'm thinking about doing it the weekend before halloween (just saturday, or friday) AND halloween night but I'd like to know everyones personal experiences and opinions, or suggestions.

Why not. The Disney Haunted Mansions run all year long. I think if someone had the facility to run one year round then why not. I think I saw on HGTV a couple Halloweens ago a story about a couple who's Victorian home is a year round haunt.

Well, I run my own home haunt in my backyard. My boyfriend and I build canopys and funtion this way. Then if you include all the hassel it is to get actors to help you out, theres that problem. Then theres setting up everything ALL over again because you dont want anyone stealing your props during the week.

With my haunt, "Maze of Terror" it takes a long time to setup (40-50 hrs).
Another 25 hrs plus to completely tear down & store. Have a limited amount of people helping with the build & over all setup. It's mainly my nephew & I. We start building mid Sept. & finish just before our Halloween party opening (last Saturday before Halloween). We have it open all that night til Midnight. Are open to a few select nights to large groups with donations. Mainly due to the 20 min. drive one way & scheduling of haunters.

P.S. In 06 the maze entertained 300 guests the night of the party. Each guest went thru 6 times each. Maze was open from 6pm - Midnight. Were open the following weekend & only got 4 more guests & no donations. Had made arrangements for the local Spirit store employees to come that night also. But it was a no show for all of them, to our disapointment. Waited 2 1/2 hrs for them, no cell call or email from them.

You may not care what I say because I'm new to this awesome forum. but I think the whole month of October should be our chance to show off our hobby. So if you have the time, have fun.
