Hi E1
Corina from Plano, Tx here.
I am downsizing so I have to sell my holiday stuff which includes...![]()
My Halloween Stuff.
We are having a community Garage Sale on Saturday but... I hate to sale it to someone who doesn't really care about Halloween.
I didn't see where selling of "our own stuff" not a store can be posted on Halloween Forum.
I am so not ready for this garage sale. I don't have pictures of everything I have to part with when it comes to Halloween. I still have tons in the attic.
If you know where I am suppose to post this thread please tell me... just don't be mean to me... i am sensitive.
I'm already freaked cause i have to downsize my most loved items. I am even more freaked about having a garage sale. I use to love garage sales when I was a teenager but now...... Ugh.. I know how much things cost so.... it's harder on me.
Help

I feel for your loss, sweets. Please be strong. And if you have the time and can catalogue your stuff, I know you would be happier selling it to fellow haunters. If you could wait even longer, you could bring your things to Ironstock in June and I'm sure have a much more satisfying experience selling the stuff.
Are you having to move? What is the reason for the rush? You'd probably make better profit using eBay than doing a yardsale.
Not trying to be nosey, so if you don't feel like going into detail we understand. Just know that we are here for you!

There is a section of stuff for sale on the front page. Or just post it here and perhaps someone nice will move it to the right section and provide a link.

What's Ironstock?
The Rush? My husband was relocated to Silicon Valley. We have to lease out our house while we are rent a place there. He's been gone since November. I have been slowly sorting through things. Of course in the middle... Life happens..lol
Now is a good time for him to come back to Texas, work from a local office for a couple of weeks then take vacation to do the rest of the stuff, like pack a u-haul then put the rest of the stuff in a storage unit.
I only recenlty thought about instead of leasing the house, perhaps I could rent out two of the rooms in my house but I don't know anyone personally who has done that ... or someone who has ever rented a room from someone's house to I could ask what and how i do that...
Sorry for the Novel...lol
The yard/garage sale is a goodway to get rid of stuff like home things/kids stuff/just stuff...lol. I didn't think about asking the Forum until I started looking at how much halloween lovables I have. Already someone dropped a box and broke some stuff in it.. ugh... a couple of things I really wanted to keep but now.... I would have to work with it to patch it up.
My husband's big thing is.... he is not going to share the one closet with several skeletons or get rid of shoes cause I want to squeeze in the gravestones. lol...
I am in hopes that if I can lease it then maybe I could keep a few things but I haven't even started doing that... so... Right now it seems my little friends need new homes.
Ty Maxim, I will go post something there when I have a list of everything and can take pictures.
As for Ebay, I don't really have that kind of energy. lol...
Thanks for all your continued help and good ideas...

Hey, I feel for ya - Mr. We'en has been threatening for years to throw out most of my stuff. Since it's mostly tucked away in the basement, out of sight, out of mind, I've been lucky to keep the majority of it.
My advice is to take an afternoon and go through all of it, then remove yourself. Next day, put into one bin anything you can't part with, and the rest take pictures of the items, then put into another bin to price. You can make a 'favorite memories' scrapbook with pictures from past Halloweens, and the stuff you had to part with. I hope it helps.Haunt to Live ... Live to Haunt

That is a great idea We'en. I'm sure at least one bin of favorites should be able to stay! If you are able to lease, then you could store it in the attic and put a lock on it. My mom did that once to a house that she rented out. It was okay. Just make sure you have lots of coverage in your lease so they have to pay for any and all damage just to dis way them from doing any. How much can you squeeze into the storage unit? I wouldn't part with a bucky to save my life! LOL But the bluckies would have to beg for their board.
As for Ironstock...its a Halloween gathering held just north of the Kentucky border in Tell City, Indiana.

You could have your own booth and sell your stuff. We are going (have been dying to for years!) and I can't wait!
I do know what you are going thru' because we moved to Florida from Michigan with only our kitchenware, our fullsize bed and a crib plus some laundry baskets and 2 suitcases for clothes and a box of Christmas ornaments. We had only been married about 5 years, but the stuff we'd already accumulated, well, I don't have to tell you.

All very good ideas.
I don't think I could make it to KY. My husband wants me in the Uhaul by June 1...lol...
I was just thinking that I would put some pictures of the items on craiglist for the Dallas-Fort Worth area and see what happens.
Yeah I have 5 buckies. Everyone always loves my house during Halloween. But I am sure they will find loving homes, but I can't imagine selling something for 25cents and haggling over my halloween stuff seems ugh to me.
I tried the bucket thing and .... well the other bucket didn't get very full....lol
If anything, thanks for the support.

What a friend of mine did when she moved for about 6months was had one of her girlfriends hold some of her most charished halloween items. Is this a possibility? (maybe have a few different friends hold a little of everything? haha)

Hi Honey,
To those reading this, I'm ccscastle's husband.
Honey, you don't have to get rid of any of ur halloween stuff. You're right, I don't want to share our one closet with buckies and gravestones. I don't want a skeleton falling out of my closet when we get our first earthquake
How scary would that be. he he
After going through the three out of about six large containers last night and seeing how hard it is for you to part with this stuff, I figure we just need to be sure to store it all properly in boxes, storage containers, or something and just take it all with us.
I don't want you to stress over having to part with it. So I'll start packing it when I get home.
Love u,
Me
