collecting postcards is ADDICTIVE ...LOL ......i know .....

10 years ago , i use to collect collie dog postcards (art cards not picture postcards) (i use to be a collie breeder ) .....2 years ago i sold all my collection to France to a friend collector (about 4000 postcards) .....was sad parting with it but money went for halloween props so good thing.....

i always loved the halloween postcards but never made the plunge to start collecting those as well .....but i often enjoy looking at them in ebay

I don't collect the actual postcards, but I love decor that has the designs replicated on them. I LOVE old school halloween art.

Schiffer Books put out 'Halloween In America' some years ago, and there are some wonderful picture postcards on display there. I have never run across any actual vintage cards in my neck of the woods, otherwise I'd be a collectin' fool, I love those hand painted and watercoloured postcards.
So I'm no help to you gym but I feel for ya!

I've never run across any. If I did, and could afford them, I'd certainly add those to my collections!

Thanks!!! I am thinking about jumping aboard this gig... I was at an estate auction this weekend and going through some old newspapers and letters, I came across about 40 Halloween postcards. I bought the lot for $20. Reviewing ebay and some websites, there seems to be a large group out there collecting them.

Ah, the wife is going to kill me... another hobby!!!

What I would really like to find (in addition to some fine antique postcards) are some old b&w photos of kids dressed for trick or treating!

That would be cool too (B/W photos of ToT going back to the early 1900's thru 1960's).

This year our Halloween party will be of the old; costume must be of the classic B/W films or Halloween Traditional (ghost, witch, goblin, etc.) I plan to go all out with Orange and Black paper and with a ton of jack-o-lanterns scattered about. I plan to bring back the old games and such for the younger ones. Neighbors and friends are really excited about this (in fact, a few have already pre ordered their costumes). I heard one plans to have an exact replic made of the original Count Dracula.
