Thread: Walmart Fabric Final Clearance?

Is Walmart phasing out their fabric department? My local Wally World has most of their fabrics marked down to $.75-$2.00 a yard. They also have that clear plastic sheeting (great for pepper ghosts and Big Scream TV) for $1.97 a yard.

If they are discontinuing fabric sales forever, I need to stock up!

According to a few stories I found on the internet, it appears the company is denying that they are doing away with fabric sales, and yet fabric is being discontinued at stores all over the country. Would seem it is going away....

Ours were marked down about a month ago and the section is gone gone gone. I was told by employees that they'll only be selling pre-packaged items that don't need an employee to cut, measure, etc.

I have a friend that works in the craft dept. at our walmart and she told me they wouldn't be selling fabric anymore. She didn't say anything either way about the prepackaged stuff.

They aren't putting it in new stores, if that is the confirmation you need.

My theory is they are taking the labor out of the dept. This way, no one has to be back there, and they can send any doofus instead of someone with a little bit of skill.

As a Wal-Fart emp. I can tell you that not all stores are removing thier Fabric sections. We are the only Non Super Center in the area, 2 supers within 20 miles. And there is No plans to remove the Fab/Crafts area, yet. But this being Wal-Mart, things change so frelling fast. I've seen new policies start and end within 45 minutes (Not Kidding), so it just depends on the area and if the dedpatment is doing well in sales.

whata whata! This is by a LONNNG shot but i know theres a few from orlando on here...anyone know if the wal-mart on semoron or 50 stoped selling fabrics!!!??? :-(
