Thread: Great lakes frightfest ???

Hey all.
We are considering attending the GLFF for 07. Since this would be a 500 mile haul for my pickup,camper,maybe the wife and a few props. I wanted to know if anyone else has gone and could tell me about it. You know sights,sounds,goings on,vendors, atmosphere. Any info from folks who have gone would be great. Plus i think it would be nice to put faces to names..Thanks guys....

Boneman you will love it!!! It is a great time. I have went for the past two years now. Its basically a gathering of people who love haloween. The main things that happen are the haunted house that is put together and the seminars. On friday, they start the building of the haunted house and its just basically a hang out day. Saturday is the main day. Seminars basically all day, door prizes are handed out and raffles are done. Then for lunch, everyone brings in a dish to pass. It ends up being alot of food. Then when it becomes dark, the haunted house begins. The entrance fee for the haunted house is canned goods. On sunday, breakfest is served and then a tour is given by the people who put the rooms together. Also, rooms are judges and awards are given for that. Its really a good time. I really enjoyed myself both years. First year i put together a room. second year i didnt put together a room and focused on the seminars. As far as vendors go there arent really. Last year there was one (Minions web). But some haunters bring some props that they are trying to sell. Its all up to you. Krazy karren does an awesome job putting it together. Jon summed it up pretty well, GLFF is a very FAMILY oriented Hanut related get together, you have Home haunters, mixed in with some Pro Haunters, Karen does her best to bring in some of the big names for her seminars and has done a awesome job in the past. I know this year will be no different. Bodybag entertainment will be doing a makeup DEMO once again, so we look forward to seeing you out there in the crowd with a Notebook in hand!!!!

Thanks for the info. This event combines 2 of our most favorite things. Camping and haunting. I tried to request some info from the GLFF web site last week but have not heard anything back. Not sure if we have to register first then make reservations for a site or call the park first to see if a site for my trailer would be ava. Does anyone have a different way to contact the hosts of the event so i can get this buttoned down......
