i need help figure out some ideas i had...any suggestions apreciated ....

these are the props i have and some will get for halloween 2007...i have many more accessories not in there too mostly for inside the house...now as i mentioned in other post my theme is haunted manor victorian edwardian era (old charm) , nothing bloody or body parts everywhere , none of that stuff , ....more disney fantasy spooky type of manor ......i am praying very much right now that the new 2007 props from gemmy and other compagnies like them will be the types of props i am looking for .....but one can only hope

    http://s21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...%20for%202007/

i need your help to find or figure out a way to make other props that will FIT the part and look of the era TO GO WITH the props i have.....

my first tought that i had was bucky skeletons dresses in old victorian looking clothes everywhere on the grounds doing something ,(the ones dressed might be only bucky heads cheaper then the hole bucky... example in the cemetery i would like a mourner on a large tombstone , people around a tomb and coffin in the cemetery like at a funeral , i am trying also very hard this year to find a cheap carriage or build a hearse so if a carriage is found and used, a couple riding in it with the coachman....still trying to find a cheap fiberglass black horse or as a rental cause i cannot afford to buy that and a carriage this year ,

what i like in the disney haunted mansion movie is when they drive the carriage trough the cemetary to go to the mausolé , their are people ghost everywhere doing something , but obviously i cant do that ....so the other tought was to dress all of the skeletons people outside in white (very challenging then to find era cheap cloths all white espacially for the male one) then light up all the poeple props with blue flood lights .

in 2005 i had the haunted manor but more oriented as a vampire manor so my bride and groom wore vampires sitting on the white metal porch benh , this year i would like the same not vampires , i am not sure using them and the life size dracula prop i also have a life size hanging upside down vampire prop ???

if you go see my other albums in witch1971 sub albums, you'll see i also have a cemetery grounds keeper he is dressed in a white robe with a lantern .....

i also have in front of the house pass the driveway a large pond but not accessible to go walk around because i have perennial beds of plants all around and second of all it is too dangerous that a kid would fall in too .

last year beside the flower box near the road next to the driveway entry i made a pumpkin farmer on a tractor mower , people would stop and even take pic and pic with it so i defenatly want something at the same spot cause we have no street light so it is pitch black there , i was thinking hitchicker ghosts like the fcg but where can i buy the rig for that type of display and for how much$$$$$ so maybe just static props ?

i am making my list of to buy material , props and budget so that in end of march i will ready to start on this.....so again the goal is props that fit with the rest of the props i have....

i will try and get pictures of the house outside with pond view and inside the house too in an other message by tomorow, inside of the house is pretty much covered alot but outside is my big issue....

i am also making a mad lab , i have my list done for that , the emplacement is just the issue now , probably the garage , just the furnase noise thats bugging me and the fact that the garage is heated too when it is getting too cold outside...but that part at least is covered

For your hearse, you should consider doing something like this:

I plan on trying one this year too! I like his plans because they are simple but effective.

Blinky their are alot of wheels at antique places , also maybe try estate auctions in the country farmers estate , thats what i am doing now checking these out once in awhile , and we have a place here that those auction once a month of stuff like tractors etc so sometimes they get stuff like that.....last fall i missed out on a cheap antique carriage (black) all original i good condition for 600$ ....when i got to the antique place they aleready sold it same day it got online .....they often get metal wheels too.....

and i am sure alot of people build theirs too , i am not and husband isnt handy enough to make those ......

greencapt that seem like an easy plan for the hearse , it doent need to be functional just for display so thats good enough for me....thanks for the link

If you read his how-to you'll see he cut the wheels from plywood. They aren't operative of course but look great! The hub is a painted plastic bowl. The main body of the hearse just sits on top of a basic folding table. The front (the only side seen in his haunt) is the only one he detailed; the back is just painted black.

Best part is when the holiday is over you just un-assemble and you're good to go!

Use your pond as a display, float a Victorian dress in it .
Ever see that old movie, "Let's Scare Jessica To Death"?
Pond, ghost of a woman in the pond from 1860"s ?

Gym , thats not a bad idea at all , hummmm , now my mind is running on that idea.....the pond is close to the road so people can see it well and when the fountain works with the lights at night it is awsome , i have a victorian stone bench near the pond to sit too .....hummmm ..their is electricity to plug the pump so i can also play with flood lights in trees there .....problem might be that that if it doesnt stick out of the water too much we wont see it unless we get too close to the pond.....

let me find pictures of the pond will post them later .....

blinky i had the horse in my favorite links for awile now , and i am really itching to get one , would be awsome with the hearse.....

ok here are pic of the pond area , view from the house , view from the road with house beind , and close up....some are recent some are 4 years old pic

    http://s89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...8/terrasement/

i dont want people too close to the pond just an added display because even if everything in october plant wise is pretty much dead their perrenial s and dont need to be steped on , so a display that you can view from a little a far would be neat....
