I'm doing a swamp themed haunted house and looking for any artificial plants(vines, hanging moss, etc.) . Does any body know where I can get these?

Marlar: Last year our Big Lots and Spirit Halloween had a lot of fake moss that looked very real. I think Michaels has vines. Our Wal-mart has a big section of vines, artificial plants/flowers, etc but don’t know if they all do.

Our dollar stores, Green Backs and Honks (now $1.05 store) have vines, too. And all the places that Mrs. L mentioned, also. Most of the flowers/vines that I've seen look like they're still alive so I've spray painted them and bent them down to look dead for my mausoleum wall flower holders.

Last year I used a lot of spanish moss, since it grows everywhere here in Florida. Gives that really spooky feeling. It sells on ebay for as little as $1.95 for a 2lb bag to as much as $18.00 for a 5lb bag.
There will come a time when you have a chance to do the right thing.
I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by.

Garden Ridge stores carry the bags of fake spanish moss. I think a 2 lb. bag is about $2.00. They also have a big section of fake flowers/plants, so I bet you could find the vines you need there too.

Don't forget,
Palmetto fronds: cut them out of cardboard and spray paint dark green
Cypress knees: make from scrap styro then paint
BTW if you need lots of spanish moss I might could mail you some.

I would be needing a lot of spanish moss,. It it be easy to hang from my eaves of the house( would i need to hang it on a wire support ), and what if we had a bad month of weather what would it do to the moss. I need to store it for the following years of the haunt, or would I have to get new moss every year?

You can twist up newspapers , coat them with latex and make nice fat vines, somewhere I saw an article about this?

Totally forgot bout that! I'd use exterior carpet glue for alot of vines though. You can get a 5 gal. bucket way cheaper plus it dries a kinda yellowie brown. In fact...I'd streighten out wire coat hangers, hook ends together, use spray glue on newspaper to twist it around the wire, put on latex gloves and smear the carpet glue over the vine. After it's all dry, dry brush w/brown or green exterior OOPS paint. The coat hanger wire would allow you to bend and hold the vine into any shape you want. This would be tough enough for extended outdoor use and reuse.
