today at work I took in my mp3 player loaded with halloween music, Midnight Syndicate, Nox Arcana, theme songs. I even copied a cd of sound effects to my computer and put it on.
Halloween can't come fast enough!

Halloween comes to my house whenever someone rings my doorbell and wants to pay me for a ticket for the house tour.
Usually about 90 minutes later they have been throughly initiated, now they know first-hand what goes on here and many talk about their times here long enough and loud enough afterwards that it really does save me money on advertising. Yes, we’re definitely in withdrawal! But, since Mr L is just as into Halloween as I am, there isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t talk about Halloween and our plans for this year. That helps a lot. And we play Halloween cd’s in the car all year around.

Last Halloween I was in on a yard haunt as many of you probably have already read.
It wasn't exactly the best , and it kind of got me thinking about saying to heck with it, and quit building props.
Seemed to be no reason to do it because of the hassle you get from the people walking through, actors not showing up, and the weather.
Probably a little of it was due to Halloween being over for another year.
But, last night I went through Ravens Grin Inn and now I got that old feeling back.
After talking to Gym and seeing his place, I have an abundance of ideas and am looking forward to building more props.
Thanks Gym for a great time and for the inspiration.Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional

Same here Jack, it never ends if you keep it "alive" all year by building and planning.
I don't want to just scare them... I want to mess them up for life!

Thank you Strange1, so far tonight I have had another family group come through here who is talking about putting on a haunt in their town.
I gave them some encouraging advice at the end of their tour. About half of their family group had not been here before. The one girl fooled me though she kept acting like she had never been here and she has been here 6 times!?
"Acting" is acting, I guess? Whatever is fun for the customer.
I always laughed when someone pretends as if they have never been here just trying to scare their date more this way, of course many years ago I learned to never spill their beans concerning this because sometimes they were here before with another date!!! OOPS!
(Sort of like not assuming the old man with the showgirl is a grandfather and his grand daughter,..... because..... they are married to each other! OOPS!)

I'm kind of still immersed in last Halloween as I've finally started editing the video I shot that night. I'm editing it with Final Cut Pro and I'm at about the 1st Grade level of knowing what I'm doing. I've done film and video editing before but Final Cut has a rather steep learning curve. It's coming slow but steady. It's fun looking at all the footage I shot of my Haunt.

Hey guys and gals,
I am so thankful for this forum. You can't go through withdrawal when we get to read this everyday.
Thanks Larry for helping my habit!
