We went to a birthday party for a friend tonight, and the topic was mostly about our Halloween party! This is the 2nd time lately, including a holiday party, where our party has been the main discussion. I am a little psyched, because so many people have pledged to come.

On the flip side, given my job status, I just hope we are a>here to have it b>can afford to have it c>living in a place big enough to have it.

wilbret: that is great!! Isn’t it a nice feeling to know that your efforts are so appreciated! I hope you are able to continue it next year.

At our haunt last year, a mom going through said, “we talk about your house/haunt all year long at my house!” It was music to my ears!

    YES! Compliments are wonderfull!
A few years ago I actually began kind of believing them when they are pointed my direction.
Of course maybe something really doesn't count as a compliment when within the next 60 seconds they ask for money or to borrow something or to do something for them that you wouldn't normally be doing?
My unusual house tour ellicts profound responses (often times) people are at a loss for words to describe their feelings or even why they feel the way that that they do afterwards.
Then some others have defined me and this experience very well, using words and terms that I would have never thought of!
So it could have been scary for me if I let it, because basically I just do what I feel it is that I want to do here, which makes it even harder for me to define it or package it or sell the recipe.
I know that I'm not the best at anything, but I do alot, so maybe some of it impresses somebody , once and awhile, this all any of us can really hope for.

That is when you know that you are doing it right.

    Kudos.

Yeah I got a lot more compliements and thanks from adults surprisingly, kids are hard to impress.
Next thing I know, I am running for my life and all I could think of is how sad I would be if somthing were to happen to me you know?

Last year I worked on my MIB to keep me occupied during this time of year. I want to make a stirring witch/cauldron, but the job situation leaves me not wanting to spend.

What can I do that doesn't cost anything?

That's awesome, esp. this time of year!

Maybe make some ground-breaker monsters with some cheap PVC and old clothes laying around? I'm thinking of trying to corpse a cheap skelly I got on clearance. Will have to search the "Props" discussions for info. Good luck!

Anytime, anyone I know sees or hears something about Halloween (or hearses) they immediately come and tell me about it. Sometimes it comes as a suggestion for the next years party or just remembering something from last years party. The main reason that I decorate the whole house and have the party is so that all my friends can come and have a good time and "forget about life for awhile". Pardon the pun. It makes me feel good to know that they're thinking about it all year 'round.

Awhile ago, we attended a funeral where they showed a slide show of pictures of the deceased. I said to my friend, omg, when I go, the only pictures that they would have is me in costume. She assured me that that was O.K. because that's how everyone would remember me anyway!!
