Hello. Don't know how to post private reply. I used a Walmart garden owl. it is a hollow plastic owl about 12" tall. I dremeled off his head at the neck and glued in a mechanism from a karaoke christmas bear. That made the head go back and forth just the bear used to. it is light activated so I extended the sensor and hid it in the stump that I built the whole thing on. After getting the mechanism to work i bought 2 bags of feathers and hot glued each one on stating with the head and working my way down. For sound I recorded a owl noise off the web and put it in a portable cd player with repeat mode. I have $9.00 cheap speakers next to the stump but it sounds great.
Hpe that helps, quite easy just using things i had lying around the house.Picture is linked http://s130.photobucket.com/albums/p...bbyguy_photos/
thanks hobbyguy......the owl i bought this year was a hooting garden owl like yours but aleready have a moving head just the noises are not pleasing to hear as it doesnt hoot at all.....i wonder how i could maybe keep that movement but unplug the sound and had my own maybe ?
