We were pretty busy this last weekend, still (Nov. 26-26th), several familys meeting here from various corners of the country to share the experience of touring my house (The Ravens Grin Inn).
They were all such nice, fun people too!
Nobody was here tonight, Monday Night Football and rain made that happen, along with the colleges starting classes again and everyone having to be back at work, Monday.
My wife pointed these things out to me earlier today, of course there are a number of people who come here on Mondays and odd days because that is when they don't have to be at work, bus-boys, movie theater workers.......
In a few days the air temperature is supposed to really drop all at once.....
It has been very pleasantly warm as of late around here, a pack of coyotes were seranading us last night from not very far away at all as we walked our dogs late that night......
The business school stresses "Location, location, location!" As one's first major and important business decision, even though we are off the beaten path, I think the loneliness and solitude out here is found to be perfectly scary for many of my visitors throughout the year.
"OU-Woooooo!!" "Yip, Yip, Yip!"

Hey Gym, as long as you're open and willing, Halloween will never be over! Agreed, as I type this I've got the windows & doors open - one last hurrah of warmth before the bottom drops out & we have to put the plastic on the windows until April. Guess I should take advantage and go for a walk - but it's much more fun to post up here. And the coyotes here never come into town - lots of farm and prairie-land for them to roam on the outskirts. So keep your 'spirits' - you've made it, they will come!

Gym,
I think it's great that you are busy year round...to me that speaks volumes about exactly how amazing your house must be! Especially if you are in a bit of an off the beaten track location, to have the constant flow of traffic that you do, that is just out of this world! (Makes me want to get up there even quicker!) Do you even have a "slow" season? Because it sure doesn't sound like it!
I came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass. I'm all out of bubble gum.

Same location, 20 years, open almost every night, I hope they know I'm here!
Of course what goes on here for my show-presentation is not what many would consider "normal" fare for such a venue . (As defined over the last 35 years by October/Haunted Houses.)
My place is the original definition of "Haunted House", the creepy old house at the edge of town where people have a history of having supernatural experiences...........this kind of help or show is very undependable though, so in the meantime I entertain.......
It is a "Jim-Intensive " performance, of course! (Impossible for others to copy, mu own job security!!!) hahahaha!"My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

Gym,
You definitely have some serious job security!
That "Jim-Intensive" performance I'm sure adds a unique something that obviously can't be replicated anywhere else! I think that's what is so intriguing about your place, it being out on the edge of town and like you said, where people have a history of having supernatural experiences...that just adds to the aura and intrigue of your place.

Wow, 20 years - very impressive! It's cool that you've continued it keeping with the original definition - it would be so easy to add blow-up bouncers and hay-rack rides and call it a "family fun park". Love that it's all spooky, all the time!

I have never done bloody, gory stuff here, if I did THEN it would be a "Family Fun Park"...Charley Manson's "Family", that is........
Some people do experience great fear here because it is so different, unpredictable. (by the rest of the world's standards)
Most people that come here have a fun and thrilling and inspiring experience.
I hear from people regularly that their child, husband, relative couldn't stop talking about their tour here so finally the entire family returns to see just what is the big deal?
Then they can all share the obsession! (And I don't mean the perfume)"My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"
