I have not seen it. I read that it was loosely based on the most famous haunting of all time, the "BELL" Witch' ("BELL", not Blair!)
1820's Tenn. for several years a floating voice communicated with the family of John Bell, performed incredible impressive feats for the amazement of all of the learned people of those times, including president to be, Andrew Jackson.
Any movie would have to be a 4 hour production to do this true story justice, in my opinion.
The Bell witch is the only known ghost to have ever killed a living human being. It poisoned John Bell, bragged about it, celebrated Bell's death."My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

I thought it could have been SOOOOO much better. the written accounts I've read of the Bell Witch are 100 times scarier than this poor telling. It went for the sordid instead of the scary. If anyone hasn't read the 'real version' I highly recommened it!

The movie as based (very, very, loosely) on the legend of the Bell Witch. I'm sorry but that movie was just bad. It took the premise and totally ruined the story. I was hoping for an actually retelling of the legend, instead I got a bunch of hollywood crapt.
" There could be no doubt of the design of my tormentors. Oh, most unrelenting! Oh, most demoniac of men! 'Death,' I said, 'any death but that of the pit.'"

What is the title and who is the author of the book? I'd love to read it!
Haven't seen the movie yet, simply because everyone I know who saw it was fairly disappointed...figured I'd save myself some time and money. Although if it ever hits HBO, Showtime or the like, I'll probably try to catch it.I came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass. I'm all out of bubble gum.
Laurie: "Was that the boogeyman?"
Dr. Loomis: "As a matter of fact...that was."
