Found the CD with the other shots. Most are taken during the day with no fog, no blacklights, no blue lights, no lightning and no spotlights. I made everything in the rooms from tombstones to modified Gemmy Karaoke Xmas Bears, to the hand feathered plastic garden owl with Gemmy Karaoke Bear "guts". Enjoy!!and thanks for the great compliments so far.
I have enjoyed finding this forum, wish I had found it earlier, just found it days before this last Halloween. All of you have great ideas!!

Oh Hobbyguy...I just love these pictures. I cannot believe how good you made this look with the scene setters. I still got a kick out of you doing that in your living room last year and you have so convinced me that I'm not nuts bringing them thru my house.
I mean I don't get to excited about things and after owning a Diner for 11 years I mean if something spills or a kid vomits I'm ok with that!!Kind of goes with territory.
2007 they will be able to look at the living room which will be the funeral parlor from behind a roped area. Just will be to much in there to fit to many people in there at one time. Hoping it will be a chilly night so we can have a big fire roaring in the fireplace. Then they will exit right there out the kitchen door into the garage and hopefully we can get the stuff in the garage done.
Thank You so much for posting the rest of these photos...I sure enjoyed them and you made me see the possibilities of what ya can do!

The werewolf started out as a 5 ft karaoke Xmas bear. I extended his legs by 2 feet, added shoes, clothes, mask and body fur. His head moves back and forth and he sort of rocks, not a much as he used to as a bear. His mouth also opens and closes as he is actually singing Xmas songs just that the volume is turned down. Next year the volume gets turned up as our theme will be Merry Halloween.
The walls are covered with stone wall plastic from www.stumpsprom.com
I bought the 100 ft roll. The ceilings are covered in blue from the same source. The floors are covered with paper cobblestone roll from Stumps and the carpet is covered with shredded green and brown paper used for decorative baskets. It was purchsed at www.papermart.com
The best part about the living room was when people came to the door rthey had no idea what was on the other side other than the "Castaic Cemetary" sign on the door. When the door opened they were floored. That goes for the 90 or so guests at our party, another 150 at our open house and another 200 or so on Halloween night.
Muffy, looking at your pics it looks like you already go all out indoors. I love doing detail stuff, but not too many people take the time to look closely. Looks like you enjoy detail too!!Nice job!!And the chocolate part....can't live without it daily.

Wow hobbyguy, those pics look great. I'm just amazed that you do all that inside! I, too, decorate inside but not like that! I don't have tot's coming inside...I just like to decorate and enjoy it for a few weeks before Halloween.

hobbyguy,
I am just truly blown away by your talent and creativity! The entrance portion of your house doesn't even look like a house...and that to me is amazing when someone has that much talent that they can transform a room like that. The entrance is astonishing, I am so impressed by the affect of the scene setters. And I absolutely LOVE your fountain, that's awesome! (I appreciate the verbage on your tombstones, that's always one of my favorite things to check out at haunts...yours are very creative and funny to boot!)
Simply a gorgeous effort hobbyguy...just gorgeous!!!I came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass. I'm all out of bubble gum.
Laurie: "Was that the boogeyman?"
Dr. Loomis: "As a matter of fact...that was."

Thank You Hobbyguy....I use to decorate both the inside and outside of the diner we had. Hubby was a good sport as we dug holes and put up huge trees that had been cut and then we strung web and put our monsters in there. The customers enjoyed all we did. The inside of the diner was just full of decorations.
Now that its gone I had all this stuff from the diner to decorate at home with. Last year I just did the monster tribute wall and the foyer was decorated but this year when we decided to invite the kids in and the popcorn machine came up ....well that meant them walking all the way thru to the kitchen...so the dining room needed something to.
Before I found this forum I was a fan of Britta's web site and also Ghostess Deanna. Both do a lot with the inside of their houses...so that is where the idea started. Then I found this forum. Also the kids could not see in the house from outside. It was a huge blast having them inside this year so next year I'm going to add a few more things.

Thanks for the nice comments. The fountain is all styrofoam. I used a Home Depot plastic storage tub for the water storage, a lighted mister from Spirit, and alot of stone texture spray paint and wood putty. I also installed 2 super bright white LEDs imbedded in the foam to shine on the bat.
The tree is about 9 feet tall. It has a plywood base with 1x2 runners. I found a bunch of brown paper used in packages we get from deliveries at the hobby shop. Just dipped in white glue and applied. I never painted it. I made the arms removable for storage and I installed red LED's in the crows eyes ( I saw crows with LED's available this year, would have saved me alot of soldering and time).
Tombstones are all made of styrofoam with carved words and stone spray paint along with glow in the dark paint airbrushed in the words and across the top for effect. Don't like to apply glow in the dark paint to heavy, I like the subtle look, just misted on so that the black lights can catch it.
Thanks for all the comments, less than one year to go until Halloween 2007!!
