Today was the 11th of november....Saint Martin's Day in the Netherlands. The kids go door to door with laterns and sing a song. In return you give them candy. Its kind of a cross between treat or treat and caroling lol We had 3 kids tonight at our door. The first one was a really cute little girl around 2 or 3 years of age. Dad had to help get her going on with the song. It was too cute.
Anyway, here a pic of kids doing the dutch version of trick or treat
Notice how the one kid has a pumpkin for a latern? and the other kid has a mask on? I KNOW that one day soon I'll be getting tot'ers like the rest of you!

Yes MS Meeple...thank you . I have a friend in a Vets chat room I go to sometimes and I went over and sent him a PM wishing him a Happy St. Martin'S Day.....and asked him if the kids sang for him today. He is in Holland. He will be surprised!!
Love the stuff you and Pieter do, its such fun when both of the couple enjoy the planning and building of the Halloween setup. I also love your food table!
Happy St. Martin's Day to you both and thank you for sharing these pictures with us!

Happy Saint Martin's Day to you MsMeeple!
Thank you sooo much for sharing not only these great pictures but giving us a little knowledge of the holiday as well. Looks like you had a successful turn out and some cute kids singing for you!
Along with Muffy, I just adore the photos of what you and Pieter did for Halloween...and your food table, simply out of this world!!!
I came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass. I'm all out of bubble gum.

Thanks for sharing this MsMeeple. Totally cool custom. Wonder how many TOT's we can get to sing for candy here. LOL
The cold winter air lets me know I'm still alive. I feel it as I breath in and see it as it leaves me. It's the point in-between I'm not sure about.....

Now that was so cool. Thanks for the pics, it really helps to show instead of just guessing at what its like. I've seen the Mexican version their Day of the dead. That adds another.
"Every night will be another evil scene, like a horror dream, I want, I command you to sceam. Halloween you are my pride. Halloween not just a dream."
