This was my costume this year, and probably the next few seasons as well, with the cost of it.
Check it out:

Didn't turn out as well as I hoped. Asked for black and grey leather and got black and blue. Luckily it arrived in time for Halloween (the day before) I was really sweating it! Nice product but very slow to get.
Found a nice lady to make the bottom dress and legs to cover the stilts.
The grey on the skull was the color I was looking for the leather to be.
Can I paint the leather to match? And not crack or look crappy?
Let me know what you think.

Awesome costume! Going darker with leather is easy, lighter is more tricky. I know it's not what you asked for, but it looks fantastick all the same. If you want to spray it a lighter color your best bet would be leather shoe spray. The kind they sell so that ladies can match their shoes to their outfits. Works well and is less likely to crack over time.
Good luck!

Incredible Costume, very intimidating. Are those your real ears or are they some sort of State-of-the-Art Prosthetic? We had my then 13-year old son done up as a sort of "Quasimodo" Lab Assistant for a Home haunt many years ago and he wore a specially-made Cheek/Eye appliance that was glued to his face for the night. It was beyond description. Is that what those ears are? Prosthetics?

Noahbody....just got done looking at your photos and I sat here with Hubby in the background going...WOW!!! WoW!! Did you build that facade yourself? How tall is that thing? How creative it is with figures in those windows. We just loved it!
Any tutorials around on how you built that? I have been going thru the prop section so that if we get these local chapters going and start teaching people to build all these wonderful displays, that we can find the info on how to help others. I mean there is just so much on this forum and so many different looks that this is a good place to start, especially cause everyone is so willing to share their building plans and answer questions.
I think the costume is great just the way it is! You looked good!

Hello MM.
Thanks for the comps, yes I made the facade.
The facade was 14' tall, with the dorp. I built it with 2x4s, bolted together, and sunk in to the ground.
Then 1x4s across the 2x4s with 2" foam screwed (with washers) to the 1x4s.
All the "people" behind the bars are animated.
The wolfs head moved up and down and left and right (motorized spot light)
The sea hag looked back and forth (fan head)
The witch (Night Haunt Studios, not worth the money) random left to right
FCG
Ghoul would shake the bars when the sensor was triggered (dayton motor)
Thanks again, N.
