Compared to everyone else we, we honestly didn't decorate at all! (I hang my head in shame now that I see exactly HOW much more we could've done...)

We live on a main thoroughfare, so I'm always leary about putting too many great things up for fear that someone will attempt to highjack them for their own...hence, the starkness of our decorations.

I'd really LOVE if you all could give me some suggestions as to what else we could potentially do next year? We have a carport as you can see, a covered front porch and well, that's about it. I have always wanted to do something in the front lawn but wasn't sure what. And to top it all off, we are limited to how much we can put out that is electronic seeing as to how we only have four outlets under the carport eaves.

Thanks for any advice! And again, please pardon our lameness...I bow down to everyone here and their absolutely, amazing decorations!!! (I'm so glad to have found you all!!!)

Your place looks great. Nice lighting! Your house has lot's of potential. I think an FCG would look awesome flying under the carport. They're always a crowd pleaser. If you put up a small fence most kids don't bother to mess with your stuff. This is the best place to be to get ideas and expert help for turning your place into a cool and scary haunt. I don't post much but I have been here for almost a year now and have found that everyone is quite willing to brainstorm and share their knowledge to help solve any problem. You're off to a great start!

I would agree with the fence idea. just enclose a small area with a grave yard looking fence, and you 'll probably be ok. The carport would be a good potential for a small walk-through. ANother idea, is just make REALLY big props so no one can take off with them.

Last year we were renting a place with a carport and I ran some cables that we draped fabric over to turn the front 1/3 of the carport into a pirates "Treasure cave" worked great and everyone loved it. Put out most of the stuff on Halloween day and didn't lose a thing. Here's a pic.

Sometimes the most basic displays are the most striking - love the trim and the tree! By the time next year rolls around, you'll probably have the entire yard and house transformed into something terrifying!

I think your roof is screaming out for something on it. And having something on the roof would deter thieves

Dead End ...there are so many great suggestions here and I too, am like you , I humble myself here when I look at the work and talent of these people on this board. I just put up a lot of lights, some wooden props, and managed to have a lot of junk to throw on my spell and potion table (big grin).

I can tell ya joining this board has been great for me and to be in this comapny with people who so openly share their ideas with you has been wonderful. I.... like you am glad I found these folks. You will find all the help you need here and
your decorations look to me like you are off to a pretty good start there guy!

Looks like you and me are gonna start buildin!!! Welcome aboard!
