I have to travel for work from the Philadelphia area to Janesville WI on at least two occasions before the end of the year.
According to Yahoo Maps Janesville is 105 miles or two hours from Mount Carroll, IL home of the famous Raven's Grin Inn.
Since I rarely travel that far for work and don’t vacation in Chicago I am thinking that I need to take this opportunity to visit Jim Warfield and explore his haunted imagination?

From what I've seen from Jim's posts, he'd invite you to stay rhe night. I'd love to drop in some time.

I can't wait to make a trip home to Chicago to visit my family, they are crazy about anything Halloween and will drive miles to see something new. They been to all the haunted attractions in the Chicagoland area and suburbs, been on countless Ghost tours around Halloween, in Chicago they take you on bus tours with champagne drinking and all and also up to Wisconsin for a few attractions. Its the highlight of the season for them.
I was shocked to hear they did not know who Gym was so we are really looking forward to getting together and making a trip to see him. They wanted to go now without me.......I said...hey wait a minute>>>You guys wait for me!!! lol
If I was you I would do it!!

My Sister lived in Janesville for 17? years?
The drive between Mount Carroll and Janesville isn't that bad and sure doesn't seem like 105 miles if you take the following route:
Head west out of Janesville on route 11 to Footville, then on to Broadhead, then Monroe, bypassing most of Monroe go to South Wayne then get on route 73 south to Lena, Illinois this road takes you to Lanark, illinois.
At the south end of Lanark you will arrive at a Stop sign, this is route 64 going east and west, turn right, which is west, Mount Carroll, Illinois is the next town 7 miles away.
The next Stop sign in front of you has you at the edge of mount Carroll where rt. 64 crosses rt. 78. Turn right onto rt. 78 heading North, into Mount Carroll on what is now Clay St.
You will remain on Clay St. for about 8 little-bitty Mt. Carroll city blocks until you see an old 1880 3-story brick Hotel on your left, turn left infront of it, if you are suddenly crossing a large bridge, you missed your turn, turn around!
Drive one or two blocks on the brick street, you may turn right either at the top of the hill at the old (usta-be) Bank building or wait and turn right half-way down the hill at Charlie's Tavern.
We are the only building behind the storefronts on this block.
The house has parking lots on three sides of it with a woods and river over the bluff to the north.
I am on Carroll St. but finding Carroll as you come in might be difficult and Carroll St. is divided you can't drive the length of Carroll unless you have a Hummer, maybe?
This route is scenic and pleasant, avoids all large towns, but driving it in the dark might be quite a challenge?"My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

Muffy, If your Chicago relatives ever watched "Wild Chicago", the odds of your family there seeing me were pretty good.
I guess they replayed my episode about 35 times in three years?
It was a popularity contest, pure and simple and I kept "winning", people kept on wanting to see me again, I guess?
(They could tell it was alot of fun to film that.)"My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"
