This year's theme was a Wizard's Sanctuary. I have comments about the display and some of the unpictured stuff in the picture descriptions, so I don't have too much to say for this post.
I only got two trick-or-treaters this year and they came at the same time; a large comedown from the amount I had last year! To make matters worse, I had to coax them to actually say "Trick or Treat"! Oh well, at least I had fun making the display. That, and I can recycle some of the decorations that they didn't see next year without them being any the wiser...

I think it is nice that you decorate for only 2 TOTs.
I hope they come back next year and bring some friends.I LOVE TO PICK UP CANDY OUT OF THE LAWN. IT IS THE SIGN OF SUCCESS!

Thanks, Haunted Bayou! Although I might scale things down a bit next year and "take it easy" since I only have two trick-or-treaters. Only time will tell...

SO sad to hear you only had a couple of TOT's, that sure does make it hard especially when we enjoy Halloween as much as we do. I know I went thru a few years like that too and am so grateful now to be in an area where they Trick or Treat. I hope you have a better turn out next year!

Keep the Spirit alive, Atomic. Here's hoping you start seeing more TOT's in the future.

Looked really good - gotta think your numbers will expand with word-of-mouth (they'll tell two friends, then they'll tell two friends, and so on, and so on) Definetly worth the time and effort!

Wow, thanks for all of the kind words everyone! I guess I should clarify something, though: my note about scaling things down wasn't supposed to come off as "I'm quitting because I don't get a lot of TOTers". Since I didn't have a lot of free time when I made that post, I left out the parts about the clean-up taking three days, having spacing issues this year (both in terms of set-up and storage), and my spending hours sitting by the door (in costume) in hopes that the other people from last year would show up. My bad. I should also clarify that "scaling down" means that I won't be building another table covered in props to put near the door again.
I mean, why wait by the door for hours and be bored out of my mind when I could be watching horror movies instead (but still being alert enough to hand out candy if anyone shows up)? But yeah, I'll still be prepared if more than two people show up. Heck, that's assuming that I'll even stick to this plan. A lot can happen between now and October 2007, so who knows what I'll end up doing?
Once again, thanks for everything!

Those are wonderful pictures! I love the little details you took time to include, like the snake on the book....fantastic!
The TOT's who encounter your place must just be in Halloween heaven!
I came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass. I'm all out of bubble gum.

Dr. Loomis: "As a matter of fact...that was."
