my question is , are those the plastic cheaper version skellies and if so how the heck did you make them stand on their own and pose like that ? i love that you have put many many of them.....they all seem busy doing something , it's awsome......what did you paint them with ?

also your statues (gargoyle with wings and lady open arms) , how did you make them ??? they look great.....

the witches look very good as well, and the interior , just so much stuff and details....

you have worked alot for that display , again great job .....
    Thank you!

yes, those are the infamous blowmold "Blucky" skeletons from Big Lots. I install PVC inside them for posing. I have 19 of them total, but I don't think I used all of them this year. I just painted them with a coat of brownish black latex exterior paint, then dry brushed over them with a bit of grey paint. I have some pics of the process here:

The making of the gargoyle, Goliath, can be found here:

Thanks again, to everyone... I just like making stuff for myself, showing it off is all gravy! ;-)

I cannot believe how much more work you did this year. Its wonderful to see someone pay that much attention to detail. The inside of the house was as great as the outside. and as I was looking thru the photos last night I kept telling my Hubby, man did she do the work this year!!

I really feel for you as I know when we have that plan in our head and we don't pull it all off how much that bothers us, even if no one else has a clue. Having that large a party this year was quite an undertaking and it is very hard to stay clear of the kitchen when you have that many guests, so I knew what you were talking about.

I found your web site some time last year and I would just like to sincerely thank you for the inspiration I got from viewing your site. My decorating the inside of my house this year and inviting my TOT's inside came from looking at your inside house pictures. I also belong to the Halloween Yahoo group that you belong to so have kept up with all you have posted in regard to this season. Just know there are so many of us fans out here that appreciate and admire your work and we thank you for all you share with us on here.

Look forward to what 2007 brings and wish you well......think of all the people who's faces you put smiles on and the wonderful memories you create!

Aw, heck , now ya done gone and made me blush. Thank you very much. It's funny, I feel like I did so much work on new stuff this year, but when I look at my pictures, I just don't see much that is new looking. I guess that's because I see it all day long, every day. I am SO looking forward to next year, just to prove that I can pull it all off AND enjoy myself at the same time. I feel like the party and Halloween just passed right on by me and I missed it because I spent so much time working on it all and suddenly it was over and there wasn't any FUN there for me those 2 nights.

But, YOU-- I just got done looking at your pictures for this season-- HOLY CARP! You have a BOo-tiful home, and you really do have an eye for decor! WOW!! I loved all of it, and the FOOD youmade! Oh mygosh!!! Thanks for adding to my ever-growing list of stuff I wanna make. Man, I am starving now thanks to seeing all those goodies y'all had laid out. And the JoL with the cauliflower spilling out-- I love it! And your gourds are beautiful... I really need to grow some one of these seasons.

You did a LOT to make sure your guests had a good experience and I give you big kudos for that. Presentation, decor.. you got it all going on. I LOVE your witch's hat too, it is gorgeous! I love that you took pictures of the ToTs and their families. I wanted to do that for the past few years, but I just run out of time to make it happen. The little boy in the vampire costume with the googley eyes on just cracked me up, he's so adorable.

Anyway, I am rambling now. I gotta catch up on looking at everyone else's pictures as well. I'm still so far behind with reading posts..

Awwwwwwwwwwww Sh-CRAP! I got too busy to remember too! My apologies!! Send me your snail mail addy offlist so I can add you to my invite list for 2007. My biggest problem, because I DID forget several people, is that if they aren't in my address book for snail mail, I forget them! I'm trying to fix that problem for this year NOW before I forget..LOL

Great job inside and out. I like the knife holder in the kitchen. What a great idea with the bluckies from Big Lots. I have a few that the Arizona heat has done some damage to that I'm going to fix with the pvc. Thanks for posting the instructions.

Holey ham head - your place looked amazing! Wish I was half as talented. Gonna book-mark it so as Halloween approaches next year, I can look yours over & get inspired. Good work & good haunt!!
