Let us not forget the late River Phoenix, who also went the way of all flesh on Hallowe'en.

Just today I was told a story about the late pop singer Johnny Horton who had a premonition his time was short and told one friend that he would contact him from the grave if he could. He told him a specific sentence.
Years after his death some psychics in the east coast kept getting messages from someone named "Johnny Horton" for the friend previously mentioned here, they eventually contacted him and the cryptic message was the same, something concerning a drummer not being able to play very well....except it was much smoother and sort of poetic."My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

I wonder if seances are still being held for Houdini? Has anyone heard if he has made contact?

Chris Angel is good with cameras and such. Not sure his style would work in person.
As for Houdini, HE was the man and will always be,Some days, it's not even worth chewing through the restraints....

I think people still do it, but the official ones, in which his wife participated, ceased some time back in the forties. As fas as I know, they never made contact.I wonder if seances are still being held for Houdini? Has anyone heard if he has made contact?
Houdini was good, but he wasn't that good.

I believe October 31st was appointed 'National Magic Day', or 'National Magician's Day', after Houdini's death.
In the context of seances and other paranormal topics on the board lately, it should be noted that Houdini was an avowed and well-known debunker and exposer of charlatans and false mediums in the latter part of his life, and while he never claimed outright that there was no God, afterlife or anything else spiritual in our world, he also never found a single medium or psychic who didn't miserably fail even the loosest of tests he proctored, which many of them accepted willingly.
After his mother died, he began to seek out mediums to see if he could indeed contact her beyond the veil, and found immediately that he was being fleeced and lied to, and in his anger he began to work toward proving the trickery and deceit of the mediumistic culture born in the sadness of WWI's massive loss of life, and the deaths of many other innocents in the years of the pandemic which came on the heels of that war.
He promised Bess he would try to contact her if it was possible; according to her and anyone else involved with any of the official seances held each year, he never did.
That in itself may be an answer, and it may not be. I sure as heck don't know what's beyond this life.
But he certainly didn't take the subject lightly, and spent a great deal of time, energy and money tracking down and exposing those who prey upon the gullible and superstitious.
No accusation or offense intended to anyone on the board, just a point of fact about an amazing and amazingly complex man.
