You know this will get me labled a crybaby and I honestly don't care, but did anyone else get offended by the Bill Maher's costume? I mean, yeah it was in bad taste when South Park made the same joke, but still.

Yeah, I think that's a little much. I'd never do something like that.

The costume upset my wife. She used to love his program.
Someone posted somewhere that Halloween wasn't quite over yet, Bill Maher still had time to dress up like one of the murdered Amish girls too, if he thought that would be clever, funny or get him noticed?
I used to think he was a funny, smart guy, maybe he is just a very desperate , scared insecure little child who is afraid of not being noticed ?

At the costume store I work at during Halloween.....we sold out of our rubber sting rays....I just shook my head about the whole thing....but then I thought,"I think I would consider it an honor if people dressed like me after I died!"
Unlike the Amish girls, Steve Irwins death was not human caused, was not premeditated by the Sting Ray, and was the risks he took and knew what could happen."I never drink....wine. Well maybe just this once!"

Strangely enough, I have to agree with Jack...how many of us will die, and no one will remember who the heck we were. It's an honour to have people throughout the world carrying on in such a way. I think it means you were important enough to bother remembering. Granted, the Bill costume was a little less than respectful - we're still all reminded about him and can think our own positive thoughts about his life.
Also - I've had a "Steve" at every halloween party except one for the past 11 years. They dress like him, use the accent and carry around rubber snakes or inflatable crocodiles. He had immortality established even before the accident. I would never kick anyone out of my party for dressing like him now. It would be nicer if people didn't focus on his loss....however, if it was me...I agree - I would be pleased as punch to see that worldwide, people knew who I was and remember...
Blessings to his loved ones....as I don't imagine any of this could be acceptable for them

I remember they few years following the Challenger accident ('86? '87?) , people did the charred astronaut suits. Definately crass.

When did Steve ever have a khaki shirt with torn off sleeves?
I despise Bill Maher, but that's another thread.
