Everywhere I went this week for post-Halloween sales was already playing Christmas music and there was Christmas decor everywhere.

Now see, that's why I love Halloween so much. You don't really start to see decor until early October (MAYBE end of September, if you're lucky), and once it's over ... it's over.

It seems that Christmas starts in September and if you count the returns and post-Christmas sales, it doesn't really end until February. Can I at least get a turkey sandwich and some turkey hash leftovers before 'ol Kris Kringle and his annoying elves start to molest me with holly berries and lighted reindeer?????

    BAH HUMBUG!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas is the big money maker for retailers so they will rush the season whenever possible. Hatchs Greetings had some ornaments displayed back in June!
Saw my first Christmas commercial the day before Halloween.....gonna be a long couple months!

I know what you mean southerbelle!!! Alot of stores around here were taking down halloween sections and putting up christmas decor. This happened during mid october!!!! Halloween still had a couple weeks left and stores were acting as if it had already passed.

We have a small family chain store here in Maine that puts out Christmas cards, ornaments etc. out in June! The whole store it seems has Christmas stuff displayed.

Halloween stuff? Phht. Just a small corner with pumpkin carving sets and a couple of masks. Nothing worth buying at all.

Ugh, I hate Christmas stores! Everything's so overly "precious". Blech.

And I agree, SouthernBelle, our Hobby Lobby had 32 (yeah, 32) aisles already dedicated to Christmas in September. Sooo...no shopping (even for Halloween) there!

It's like if Halloween gets more attention (more popular), Christmas, being the spoiled brat Holiday, has to have even more attention to make up for it. Grrrr....

I've seen a lot of Christmas out in July!
Now wait a minute, that's 6 months away!! Some people would complain if Halloween stuff was out 6 months before. Not the like minded like us but, the other cluess people. Hobby Lobby here had more Christmas stuff out then the Fall/Halloween stuff. They must not like the pagan holiday too much. I too did see the drastic change over the day after Halloween in retail stores. Yankee candle went from all the good stuff with fall colors to gasp!, winter white!!

Will you guys forgive me? I... actually, I should say "We", already bought the first (of many) Christmas decorations.

It was the wife's fault. She said since I went a bit overboard (in her opinion) for halloween, that now it was her turn to have some fun. So I had to tag along with her when she went to pick up some things. She is going with a new colour scheme for the tree this year, and that ment new ornaments, swag, decorations... ect.

At least I got some say in the little town display I do every year. She let me buy the fake brick display roll for the town courtyard ground (I wanted that since last year), and a new blow up Santa/reindeer display.

Btw, has anyone else seen the new led lights? They have a "warmer look" to them. They now look a bit more like the lights of old (a yelow/white look), but they are still led's. (I never really liked the extreme bright blueish/white of the white leds.... but these look soooo much better).

Kind of a little note here....Most of you know I work part time for a year round Halloween store, but just a couple blocks away is a year round Christmas Store called St. Nick's.

    Creeepy huh?

I've been dealing with Christmas since June. Our Xmas catalog goes out in July. It's all I've seen for most of the year. Because we also do a post Xmas catalog in January and February.

I do enjoy the season a lot, but not this early. Like SouthernBelle said it would be nice to have that turkey sandwich first. I guess Thanksgiving isn't a big deal anymore.
