I'm wondering if any of you have ever enlisted the impromptu help of the ToT's to scare the crap out of their friends? Here's the scenario I'm envisioning:

    1) Make a prop knife/axe/whatever on a flexible base that can easily be slipped into someone's shirt collar.
    2) When large groups arrive, send them down the path in ones or twos.
    3) When the first one arrives at the set position..."Pssst! Want to scare the crap out of your friends? Put this on!" If more than one, you have one dying and the other freaking out over it.
    4) You new confederates go screaming and/or stumbling back up the path wth the prop knife protruding from somewhere prominent, and collapse in front of their friends.
    5) After the first shock, everybody laughs, you recover your prop, lather, rinse, repeat.

    Think it might work?

We have talked about seeding the crowd before, but with the exit and entrance next to each other by necessity, we havnt really gotten to take advantage. This year we were way down in numbers due to weather.
But we did have a friend show up 2/3s the way thru the night with his 4 yr old daughter, who wanted to go again...by the 3rd time she wanted to be in the dungeon cage helping to hand out candy., so we let her, and her dad began seeding the next group so we could kill him. One neighbor kid went thru 5 times and we were going to ask him if we could "kill" him, but we ran out of TOTs.
We plan to work it more into next years. I may try your idea..sounds good..perhaps for the last scene..so they get the whole scare, and then get to help ....
