I am so sorry for those that had a rough night last night. I can hardly believe some of the things I've read today!
All in all, we had a great night. Probably 300-350 TOT'ers, which is down a little from last year, but the weather was much colder than we are used to for this time of year so I think that kept a few people from getting out.
Once again, we had tons of people taking pictures and getting their pictures taken in my cemetery, so that is an awesome compliment. And I am a rank amateur compared to most of you!

That's great Madame Leota! We had an awesome night too! I know I had about 6 huge bags of candy and gave it all out. I was telling my son to give two pieces per tot and it still went fast. We're on military housing and we had a lot of outside townsfolk coming in because of patrolling security and lots of door to door houses makes it easy to trick or treat. Anyway, the graveyard setup was a total hit with everyone. My wrist is sprained badly but with the help of neighbors and my husband we all managed to get everything done just in time. My fog machine didn't work-should have tested it. But the neighbor ran to get his and brought it over so that was good. The kids loved it and people took lots of pictures. Someone stole a candle, lol...one of those skull ones that melt and looks like blood coming out the sockets-maybe was $3.00 so I'm not sweating that at all.
So where do we post pictures at here? Should I upload them to photobucket and them post a link? I don't want to bog down the forum with pics. Anyone else have pics to share?
I'm sorry others had a bad time of it. It's sad when I hear stories like those I've read here. But then again, I heard stories from others saying how they were hitting the stores after Halloween to set up there own big displays next year and I think how great it is to be able to share the spirit of Halloween like that...get others into the fun of it. I see the look of wonder and pleasure on the kids faces seeing the decorations and it makes it all worth it...I've always loved Halloween and I don't think I could avoid the excitement of it as it approaches if I tried, haha.

We also had a great night even though it was really cold. Our number were down slightly. But I am really proud of the community. We collect food at our haunt for the local food shelf. I think we will be close to or surpass our high year.
That is a reall compliment to Halloween - How we help others through giving and haunting.

Madame Leota,
I too humble myself here as a amatuer with all these creative people. What a wonderful number of TOT's you had ....I had 140 last year and this year we had 176 kids not counting the parents and boy we sure had the adults come thru.
Isn't it a wonderful compliment when they take pictures of your decorations...for me ...I was always honored by that.

LOL, actually they all came and went so fast we hardly knew what hit us!
They started trickling in about 6:30, got really heavy around 7:15, and by 8:00 it was all over. Just as suddenly as it started, the streets were completely empty. Kind of spooky, really.
Last year they kept coming till around 9:00 when we ran out of candy, so this year was a little unusual. Last year we had close to 500!Dear Sweet Leota, Beloved By All. In Regions Beyond Now But Having a Ball...
