Well it started out pretty well, with the exception of two of my actors getting stabbed with something and my girlfriend the tour guide getting obscenely groped by a grup of about 12 black dudes.. People were lined up all night and we were getting great compliments on being the best thing around. Then a bunch of gang bangers got in a turf war in the front yard and the cops came and shut us down and told us we could not do it here next year because we were a public nuisance. I am so pissed off right now, I have been in this neighborhood since I was 3 months old and it used to be a great place, but just keeps going downhill. Well I have cancelled my plans for hitting the sales tommorow. No idea what next year will be now.

I am so sorry to hear about all of the lame things that happend to you tonight! But please think of your options. Maybe you and your neighbors can do something to improve the situation in your neighborhood. If not, maybe you know someone who has a place you could do it at instead.
Sounds like you guys did have fun at least, and made a whole lot of memories for a whole lot of kids. Remember that!

Once that element is there, the neighborhood is dead. It's time to move. We did, and I cringe every time I see an Escalade with 24"s driving around looking at houses here. In our last 'hood,' I told my wife every day the place was going to hell, but she just called me a racist and a stereotyper.

That changed the day the largest drug bust in Georgia history took place across the street. A patio home community that was once retired people and young professionals had become mostly rentals full of worthless people.

It's funny the cops think a halloween display is the problem and not the entitled thugs.

Wow..that's a really horrible thing to happen, epsecially since it seems everyone else was enjoying it. Like they say...it just takes one person to ruin it for everyone. Just a side thought, the police cannot tell you what you can or can not do on your own property next year. The police are there to respond to dangerous situations or the commision of crimes, not to tell you how to decorate your yard for the next 100 Halloweens to come. Unfortunately, they DID have a cause to shut you down this year (through no fault of your own of course), but they can't say "you can't do this next year." I believe that would be up to your town board to decide if/when there are complaints. Please don't throw in the towel and hit those sales tomorrow.!!! On a positive note...think of all the people you did get to entertain tonight and all the kids who will remember how cool your house was for years to come.

You have my condolences; I hope everyone's OK. I have lived in some shady areas, and watched them decline as time went on. It IS sad, it IS depressing, it WAS time to get the heck out!

But seriously, if the cops would rather blame a homeowner for a thug brouhaha (sp?) in front of their house than the thugs themselves, how much of a "give up" police force is that?

why do they come to these things with the intentions to stir up trouble? I don't understand the reasoning behind that and it makes me very sad to hear.

seems it was the night for bad mannered louts. one of my friends who is also a haunter got decked tonight. huge bruise all over the right side of his face.

Darn right. You didn't cause the incident, it just happned near your place. Do it again next year and if the undesirable element shows up then ask them to leave, if they don't then call the police to have them removed.
