    My random guess...

Well, you have the speakers, so behind them in some central area of the house is something like a CD that plays the "ding-dong" out the speakers. My guess is that you might have to change whatever is playing that little "ding-dong" to the Halloween theme or whatever you like. Sounds complicated.

There are recordable/programmable doorbells. You could also just get a recordable sound board, and hook it up to a speaker. I don't know how the typical doorbell works, but provided it is set up just to close a circuit, and not send voltage you should be able to just wire it to the sound board.

I had one at the front door of my Diner and for lunch to make it fun for the customers, we use to lock the door and you had to ring this bell that had a pre-recorded voice with sound effects. Very Spooky!

It was just a small box maybe 4x6 and it was orange with a grim reaper on it...am sure I bought it at Wally world quite awhile ago. But it did belt out a loud very clear and easy to understand voice.

I would imagine you may be looking for something more complex for a much better reaction....but I just wanted to add that people loved that doorbell and we had more fun with them as they waited for someone to open the door and let them in....brought a lot of laughs!

I was thinking of getting some 1-inch copper pipe and cutting some new chimes for my doorbell. Instead of playing "Big Ben", it could play the opening bells from the Disney Haunted Mansion. ( I don't think the second 4 notes would work, though...)
