last night we had this lady come through with a bible saying sermons and saying we were all going to hell for worshipping the devil. Me and the other actor in the room waited until she got to our room and we jumped at her at the same time and she got scared and put the bible over her head and hit the other actor in the head with the bible!
Every day I do this I am just amazed what happens every night. oh yeah I did some promotions at a car dealership today and I made 13 people cry at 2 in the afternoon in broad daylight.

If it helps, there's really no way this lady had any expectation of reaching any of you with her spiritual beliefs. I doubt she cared at that level. I'll bet that she was far more concerned about appearing as a "prayer warrior" and indulging her own ego and sense of self devotion. Even most hardcore christians would consider this sort of behavior rude at best. Most would consider it deranged and of no value to their cause.
Don't let the oddballs throw you, just avoid eye contact and let them pass if you can. If you are seriously assaulted, contact the authorities. I would have stopped everything and informed the lady that her opinion of the offered etertainment did not justify her breaking the law and attacking actors. If you had a lot of business and everyone was more shocked than hurt, I can see you choosing your confrontations with caution and letting it slip.
I would have brought up the lights and... corrected her, sir. And if my wife had tried to hinder me from performing my duty, I would have... corrected her.
(Sorry, got a little "Shining" this morning).

It wasn't a big deal it was just odd. This season I have have only been assualted twice and it's a natural reaction to defend yourself when absolutely terrified. Although there is a very thin line between intentional and just doing on reaction to being scared.
I gotta go pick up my friend and scare the crap out of people.

You know, these stories never cease to amaze me. I am a Christian, and was raised up in a Christian family and none of this makes me think that anyone is doing this to worship Satan. Heck, my father is an ordained minister and he gets a kick out of all this Halloween stuff that I and others do. I get so sick and tired of these so called christians who think that they have to judge other people, when the fact is, your taught not to judge others. I'm sorry, but crap from these judgemental, bible thumping Christians just piss'es me off. Sorry for the rant.

well said. I am from the same background except my dad is in no way a minister.
Thats how it is around here too NO one decorates hardly and if they do it's considered "satanic" I guess thats what we get for living in the "bible belt". We had Jehovahs witness stop by a couple of days ago after our haunt was done and it's completely tame this year because We mostly decorated for my "preteens" halloween party.
I can not stand the judgemental "religious" type either. I have a few in my family. A lot of what they do is hypocritical. As far as going to church but living way worse than some that don't. (like myself)
anyways... I like the check all weapons at the door saying up there that cracked me up.

No no, that's:
"Please check all weapons at the front booth: knives, guns, pepper spray, swords, chains, pitchforks, torches, stakes, silver bullets, garlic, mirrors, holy water, BIBLES..."
Hope your actor was ok, and that you pressed charges against the religious psycho.End Male Genital Mutilation. Don't circumcise.

Yeah I'm a Christian too....some of my friends don't get it.........there is a balance.....we don't do blood, gore or really freaky scenes....but we do have lots of little kids......heck I may have to kill the sound effects......because its freaking the kids out....and I do want them to do the maze.......no fun if they won't come in.....now the actors and costumes I can't control pretty creepy........our maze is more of a fun house scare as seen on my web page......nothing graphic........so I do draw the line somewhere in order to stay true to my beliefs......My mom is like that lady a little.......she hates Halloween but loves evil scary movies....?!?!

"You don't hit somebody with a bible!"
...but...but...it's so much fun!!
Of course, if I wished to offend, I could now hunt down and post some of the better "101 practical uses for a Bible" lists and post them here.
But, I'll practice what that "bible thumping" woman didn't and show some self-restraint.
...for the moment...Hell is an eternity of getting up at 4am to nothing but decaf coffee...
2009 photos and 2008 photos ...uhmmm...and what I have evolving...
