I was just browsing so avoided the hassale and lines, but my question is, ya halloween is tue but is today and tomorrow the last day in terms of people buying things? I wanna pick up some props for next year and im wondering if those sections are gonna be a ghost town mon tue and maybe wed?

Halloween is ***NEVER*** over. We just put the props back inside.
The day after halloween is for US what the day after thanksgiving is to christmas people. Lots of halloween stuff, HUGE discounts, and without the psycho people who only think of Halloween at the end of October. Downside is they'll probably be out of atleast one thing you *REALLY* wanted.
Tuesday will probably be less crowded than the other days you were talking about, but you should be at home working on your haunt instead of shopping. It'll mostly be the procrastinating amatures and the people who realized they forgot to buy something last time they were there.End Male Genital Mutilation. Don't circumcise.

My experience is that the really good stuff is gone by Nov. 1
If you want to shop sales make sure you are at the store that has the stuff you like as soon as it opens. The stores that have already put things on sale are about depleted, and Christmas stuff is taking the place of Halloween items.
I think there are more Haloween shoppers now than 10 years ago. I used to get some really nice things on Nov. 1 but now it is much more difficult.I LOVE TO PICK UP CANDY OUT OF THE LAWN. IT IS THE SIGN OF SUCCESS!

While it's sad to pick the bones of retail stores of their Halloween stuff.
There are some great deals out there for next year!

Haunted Bayou - we were talking about the same thing with some friends at our Halloween party last night. It used to be that Halloween and the days after you could find some good props greatly discounted. It seems nowadays that isn't the case anymore. As my wife observed, if you see what you want, get it, because they aren't re-ordering and it'll be gone way before Halloween...

Boy,
Reading this make me sad. Halloween almost over for 2006! I don't think so LOL
Yeah the majority of sales are over and the first part of Nov. 1st is very important in planning Halloween 2007.
But people suggesting that we pay retail for props - oh my gawd - if I were dead I would be spinning in my grave. Use the coupons in the papers and take them to the competition. Se if they will honor the early special markdown coupons. I have always had great luck with them. I just can't pay full price for a prop. I would go broke. Oh yea, I wholeheartedly agree - If you can find things on sale or use a coupon go for it! But if we had waited to get my wife's flying ghost , and a few lightweight skulls at K-Mart we would have been out of luck - both cleared off of the shelves at our local K-Mart pretty quickly...

From my experience, if you see something you like, buy it. I would rather pay a few extra dollars now, rather than wait for it to go on sale and then find out it's been sold out.If you can find things on sale or use a coupon go for it! I do head out after the 31st to see what's left over. If I find something I like and can use for a future setup, I'll buy it then. I have found some very good deals that way. Example... this 6' hard foam skelly was $20+ tax. (It think the store originally had it for around $150?). I have also seen the same prop in dedicated "halloween stores" for between $200 - $250. I found it november 2nd of last year. It was hidden under a bunch of boxes (boxes that were filled with left over candy). I noticed the lettering on the outside of the box and opened it up. I couldn't believe eyes that it was still there. (probably because of the original price tag.
). To date it's the best buy I've ever found.

This will be the first year I'll display him. I haven't deceided yet where I'm going to put him.... inside with my Scene Setters dungeon wall, or outside hanging from a noose. What do you guys think?

I waited too long to go to Garden Ridge, I think a tumble weed was the only thing left. At 50% off I understand. Spirit was in a selling frenzy yesterday as well. They said anything left was going to be sold Wednesday. I might hit them up as well.
