Well, I think most funeral homes use an airbrush type system these days to apply the makeup to the zombies. lol
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Are you asking about colors, or textures?
Liquid latex will be very useful for texturing...build up some depth...gently peel an edge on some patches...stretch the skin, paint on the latex, let it dry, you'll have fantastic wrinkles...
Colors: lots of dark around your eyes and under your cheekbones...reds and greens will go far for fresh meat and rotten meat...add some brown blotches for dirt...
A big part of the effect is your clothing...it's too late in the year to bury and decompose your costume (yes, many people swear by this method)...so cuts, dirt, leaves, grass will all help enhance your deteriorated look...a fun addition is a light dusting of baby powder (preferably unscented) to give you a dusty look, and to give off a cloud of dust if you bump into anything...Hell is an eternity of getting up at 4am to nothing but decaf coffee...
2009 photos and 2008 photos ...uhmmm...and what I have evolving...
