I've been using 3M Command double-sided adhesive poster strips but they're too pricey. Is there a cheaper option? I don't want to staple the wall.

This wall covering is heavier than Scene Setters.

Are you talking about that corrugated stuff?
I have found after struggling with adhesives in an attempt to preserve the walls that it is pointless. I usually end up with thumbtacks in a few strategic locations.

That's what I would use. Besides, filling in a small little hole with some drywall compond, is much easier to do than fix a a damaged area after you try to pull off some duck tape (trust on on that).
If you think the thumbtacks will pull/rip the material, then use some duct tape, but put the tape on the backside of the material of where you are going to stick the thumbtacks through.
