I hurt my back the other day, I dont know if it was from moving my toe pincher from the outside to the lawn. or from helping my wife move the entertainment center, but anyway, by the end of the day I was really hurting. Went to the doc the next day, bulging disk in my lower back. So Now Im on Flexeral and it knowcks me out. Ive still got the deck to finish and a few things left in the yard. Ill take pics of the yaed tomarrow eve, so you can see it. But I dont know how much I can do with my back, I dont dare lift anything. Maybe I can make the props and my wife can set them up on the deck.

Ive already had a few kids come over and admire the toe pincher. They called me the boogieman, guess thats my new name on the block!!

A couple of weeks ago I was getting so bent about everything that still needed to be done and everyone has been sick and it just wasnt moving along. Then my girlfriend pointed out that I was being a real ass and we do this because its fun. Made me step back and enjoy what im able to do and not fret about what doesnt get done. Do what you can, enjoy it, and there is always next year.

Heres a comical but true note:

My new hubby got hurt in Vietnam pretty bad when going over a mine field in their track. All of them were blown off the track and everything went up in the air. When the gunners shield came down it landed on his back and he has had problems since he was 19 with his back . He has flair ups quite often and to make things worse he had this great hobby for 20 years>>>>Bullriding!! (some people never learn)

Anyway my advice to you is let that baby heal and don't take any chances picking things up. Also would like to add I called the ex-hubby, he is good friends with the new hubby and the ex came over and not only built some stuff for me but spent 2 weeks helping me get everything up in the yard and in the house!! Some ex's are pretty good guys!

Yeah my pre-halloween project depression hit me pretty hard tonight, despite having set up the graveyard and being pretty happy with the yard overall. I just have too many bits and pieces of things I'll never finish in time strewn about the house and I need to finish the easy stuff, pack away the rest until next year and take the time to enjoy what I have. Sigh.

Do take it easy with that back! My neighbor's disk ruptured and he has been in a wheelchair for months now. I never knew something like that could do so much damage....

I got 2 easy props out of the way yesterday, a simple mask over a milkjug w/ spiderwebs covering it and a autopsy table. Im going to staple sheets down on the floor of my deck today, seems like all I do is crawl around on my hands and knees anyways! LOL

A haunter's time is so precious in October! Good luck to everyone. I never get done what I have hoped to finish. It gives me something to look forward to next year!

Eek, nothing scarier than haunters being out due to injury! Take care of yourselves, get plenty of rest and eat lots and lots of chocolate (my favorite cure-all!! )

Seriously, nows a good time to step back and see what realistically can be done in a week. Everyone here does such great jobs, you all put your hearts and souls into it, and it really shows. But please take it at least a little bit easy, like to see all of y'all around for a good long time!

Now that the weather is finally cooling off (Central Florida) I can finally spend time in the garage and not pass out due to heat exhaustion. I made a list of the things I have yet to do. Not much, just placing a few odds and ends here and there.

But I can relate to a back injury. I fell while chasing after my two year old in roller skates (I was on skates), fell right on my butt. Nothing seemed wrong at first, but after a couple months, I started getting really bad backaches. To the extent that I couldn't even get up up to walk, I had to crawl to the bathroom and take a shower on the floor of the tub. Dr's couldn't find anything wrong and wouldn't take xrays because by then I was pregnant. I finally went to a chiropracter and he fixed me up right, found out the problem was I was "misaligned" and he pulled here and pushed there, did that famous neck crack, and put a wrap on my left ankle. And I was able to walk out of his office. Told me I was carrying too much weight on my shoulder, I guess, with my purse, baby bag and baby.

Please take care of your back, take it easy this year, there's always next year.
There will come a time when you have a chance to do the right thing.
I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by.
