A guy I deal with at work dropped by this morning for a Look-see at the haunt. He and his partner don't have any kids and they've never seen the set-up, only heard about it from people at work. We haven't put out any of the "Good Stuff" yet, so I brought him inside the workshop. I only showed him the Bottomless Pit and the Laser-Beam Eye Witch, and he'd seen enough, he was impressed. And this guy's from Philadelphia, not easily impressed. I told him, Oh, you wanna see this tuff at night, with the fog and everything". That's it, he and his girl will "borrow" their neighbors kids and they're coming here this year.
Before he left he asked me how long I've been at this. between Canada and Samoa, this will be my fifteenth year. He shook his head and asked "How far, what's the most extreme thing you've ever done to scare the kids?" I had to think about that one.
I said it would have to be the year I did the "Jack Torrence" thing. I had the complete get up, clothes right out of "The Shining", didn't shave for a week, long hair uncut for six months, Chlorox in the eyes to make them go all bloodshot. But, as I looked in the mirror, something wasn't quite right... That's when I did the most extreme thing for hallowe'en that I've ever done. I SHAVED MY HAIRLINE BACK about 2" to make me look more like Jack Nicholson!

Holy crap, that's pretty darn far...I used to think I was crazy until I found these boards!

The Shining is the scariest movie ever, I think I would have crapped my pants if I saw something that realistic tot-ing.

What did your wife have to say about it?

I haven't done anything outrageous for Halloween myself. My husband and I were going to go as V and Evey (V for Vendetta) this year but changed our minds when we figured out how much money we'd have to spend for his costume! Anyway, I was planning on shaving my head for the Evey costume....and even though I'm going as something different, I still shaved it!

Sheesh, you guys. The most I've ever shaved was the tips of my eyebrows, to be a Vulcan.
