It's 4am 10 days before Halloween. Can't sleep for all the things yet undone parading through my head, too early to go out to the garage, the noise would wake my sleeping wife.
We all do this to some extent, every year, no matter how well we've prepared. It's the same feeling any other performer gets just before the curtain goes up. We are indeed performers, of sorts. Even if your display is as simple as a carved pumpkin on the front porch, or a full on computer controlled animatronic show, the feeling is the same. Will people like it? Will they "get" it? Will everything work? Will I even get any TOTs? Will I run out of candy?
We question why we go through all this work and stress, not even to mention expense, every year for what is, for some of us, a 4 hour event. Same reason, because we want to share our passion, our hobby, our skills and our talents.
Hopefully it will all be done on time, everything will work, no breakdowns, the weather will be perfect, everyone will rave about how great your display is, and the last TOT will get the last piece of candy.
OK, wife is up, time to go to work... Happy Haunting to all
